An: You can't make me shut up about this man 😤😤. He deserves so much love and I'm not ready for Ch 16 of Moon and Sun. Fluff, lots of fluff.
----------------------
Kite, to put it quite simply, is a great father.
He never thought he'd ever have kids of his own. He always felt he was too busy, and relationships never tended to last with his line of work. But his perspective began to change when he met you.
He was content having you in his life. One of the only constants. He was content having the boys stop by occasionally. Already treating them like his own. And a part of him thought that was the closest the two of you would ever get to having kids.
So imagine his shock when you told him you were pregnant.
The surprise when he could see two little blimps of life inside you instead of one.
He's the type of father that when his little girl is older, doesn't mind her giving him ‘makeovers’. Who doesn't bat an eye when she starts applying splotchy eyeshadow to ‘make him pretty.’ Who lets her braid his hair and put all of her glittery clips in. Who makes sure to sit in on every tea party, tiara and all, just to see her smile.
He's the type of father who can never say no when his son asks to go on a fishing trip. Who teaches him all his favorite tricks for the perfect catch. Who listens to him rant excitedly about the trout he caught, listing off each and every fact from the top of his head. Who is more than supportive when he decides to be a hunter just like his father.
But even in the early stages he seemed to excel.
Kite is the type of dad to listen and nod his head when his two infants start babbling. Cooing a ‘mhmm’ and a ‘your’re absolutely right.’ Acting as if he really understands what they're saying. Who, when they make little grabby gestures, always seems to know what they want. Whether they just want to be held or fed, he just knows.
Who, instead of being grossed out when there's a bit of spittle on his shoulder, laughs it off instead. He'll set his little girl down to clean it off, only for his boy to drool on his boot next. Who'd rather it be that then the throw-up currently on the front of your shirt. And who, when you eye him with a mischievous smirk asking for a hug, flees while the twins giggle and laugh at the sight.
He's the type of father to beam with pride when his kids start speaking. Who, after being gone for a few weeks on an expedition, returns home to hear his two toddlers arguing in their playpen. ‘Gib me!’ from his son trying to pull the pacifier from his sister's mouth. A ‘No! Maaaa!’ from his daughter. And he's definitely the type who's heart melts when they turn around and coo ‘Dada’ at him for the first time.
He's the type of dad who absolutely adores the fact that both of his children look exactly like you. From your hair to your eyes, they were both mini copies of you. Who loves you with his whole heart, and in turn loves his kids just as much, if not more.
He's the type of father Who tries to be around more for you and them. Who makes sure he's not gone for more than a few weeks at a time so he doesn't miss any major milestones. Who immediately steps up to help you with the twins, and who tells you to rest so you don't overwork yourself.
Who wants to be able to give his kids everything he never had as a child. Including a home filled with warmth and love.
Who likes to tease you after a night of intimacy by placing a hand on your tummy and whispering, “Maybe we should have just one more. But knowing our luck,we'd end up with two again.”

This is how I cope!!!! I'm still not over MatPat 😞

-Kurapika is typically preoccupied with work or his goal at hand most days, but on the rare mornings where he does have time to spare, he has no problem spoiling you.
-He cleans up the house so you don’t have to and cooks breakfast for you as well, gently placing it on your nightstand with a kiss to your forehead before quietly slipping out of the house.
-Of course, your whole relationship is filled with many moments such as that. Kurapika checks on you if you’re feeling upset and will offer his support, he'll do the silly dances you want him to do, and will spend as long as he can talking with you.
-And amidst your warm conversations, Kurapika will reminisce about his past life, a longing glint in his eyes as he holds you close, almost as if he’s scared of losing you too.
-If he’s not busy, he likes to take you on dates that involve you going to places such as museums or getting ice cream while strolling the city at night.
-Although he’s typically discreet about it, you’ll sometimes catch him staring at you in adoration for the simple things you do. You always make him happy and sometimes he can't help but to express it.
-This should come as no surprise, but Kurapika doesn’t really like pda, mainly because it’s embarrassing and he’d rather keep things private to others- his love life being one of them. But you’ll still sneak in a kiss on the cheek or lay your head against his shoulder, catching him off guard before he finds himself smiling lightly.
-Since meeting the rest of his friend group, you now keep in contact with all of them since Kurapika fails at it most of the time. You also make sure to relay the messages they give you back to Kurapika, and despite his attempt at concealing it, you can tell how happy he is at how much you care about him.
Kite
-Kite is a very gentle lover, being attentive to you and demonstrating his love in many ways.
-Although affection may be a seldom occurrence, Kite still will do things like softly kissing your knuckles or along your shoulder, hugging you close to him as he hums in contentment.
-He wouldn’t flat out admit it, but he enjoys it when you play in his head. As long as it’s not distracting him too much, he’ll lean into your touch as your fingers peacefully thread and comb through his long hair.
-Kite has a busy schedule but still makes time for you, especially if he notices that you’re sad. His preference is to take you somewhere outside because he believes that nature always can make you feel better. But he’s also fine with staying in, the two of you nuzzling together next to a fireplace while watching a movie.
-Super protective over you, all the way to his crazy slots constantly teasing him about how he acts. It’s annoying and he wants nothing more than to wring the clown's neck, but he can’t deny what he’s saying because he does in fact care deeply for you.
-Can often be a bit serious, but you make him ease up when he's with you.
-For example, one day he came home to see you had brought back puppies and he almost choked once he saw how many of them were running around. He demanded you take them back because of how much work they required, but when he saw that all of you gave him puppy dog eyes with quivering lips, he eventually gave in to you with a long sigh, the puppies happily licking his chin with him shaking his head in defeat.
-Needless to say, you definitely have Kite wrapped around your finger.
hello hello! i just saw your post about wanting to write about kite so i am here with a request :)))
can we have some adventures with kite? whether it’s just fluff or whatever you have in mind i would just love to hear your thoughts!
ily 💗
Im going to try to do this as best i can, hopefully it's something you enjoy :3
Birds were chirping. The sun had yet to rise fully, and the air was cool and damp. So was the ground. For a brief moment in your sleep, you had forgotten where you were. But, as you felt the cold hard stone beneath you, it was easy to remember you were not at home, in your nice comforting warm bed, but rather, in the middle of a forest, god knows where, with kite.
It had been about six months since you had taken the hunter exam. You couldn't say this for certain, obviously, but it was an estimate you felt comfortable with. Throughout this time span, kite worked tirelessly to teach you the art of nen, and his work was paying off.
You looked over, across the fire that was just about ready to die. There lie kite, surprisingly, he was still fast asleep. Looking at the pathetic excuse for a fire, you decided it would be wise to get it going again. It was extremely chilly and dew covered the surrounding area. You didn't want either of you to get sick.
But all attempts to revive the fire failed. You sat, pouting at your inability to save the flame. And as the fire died out, it only got colder. You hadn't a blanket, nor a jacket, you hadn't anticipated being somewhere with such unforgiving elements.
Bringing your knees to your chest, hoping to conserve body heat, you noticed kite stirring from the corner of your eye. He was waking up.
Kite extended his arms, and rolled over onto his stomach to face you. He removed a few strands of hair that had found their way into his mouth and grinned. "Morning."
god, he was so pretty.
the sun had almost risen completely, and more birds had found their way into the chorus, serenading the two of you.
"Morning, kite" you could feel your face heat up just looking at him, even in his tired, lazy, unkempt state, kite was beautiful. the most handsome man you had ever laid eyes on. Either that, or spending six months alone in his company exclusively had started to make him more attractive to you.
Regardless, you wanted nothing more than to lay by his side. Next to him, rather than on the other side of the fire. To cuddle him. Kiss him.
You shivered. You couldnt tell if this was due to the butterflies in your stomach, or the steadily decreasing temperature, but it hadn't gone unnoticed.
"Cold?" Kite's voice was raspy and low, as it was every morning.
You nodded "yeah. I have been. And i couldn't get the fire to keep going..." you admit, embarrassed.
"Come here." Kite sat himself up, reaching over and pulling his cloak from his bag. He wrapped it around himself, and opened his right arm, signaling for you to move in next to him. "I'm cold too. We can stick together for warmth while i rebuild the fire."
you moved over next to him, getting under the piece of fabric, practically clinging to him. The feeling of human contact. The body heat radiating from him. It all just felt so good. You wrapped your arms around him tightly as he worked at reviving the dead flame. Something felt. Different. But good nonetheless. Was this the catalyst to a new dynamic, perhaps filled with romance? Or simply a platonic gesture misinterpreted by your one sided love?
Kites reaction to hearing reader having to wear something fancy and go on a date with palm? 🤭
In reference to the latest Sun and Moon chapter I suspect😏
For those of you who are new, the series this is based on is here
It was something he was bound to find out during the duration of your relationship. Either through you or the boys. Something that was said in passing. And when he'd properly asked you about it, it wasn't something treated like a secret. You were open and honest about the situation.
You had gone on a date with a woman named Palm. And because you had absolutely no idea what you were doing, your approach was rather old fashioned. A nice button up with flowers.
Now, you weren't a flashy person by nature. Not even an outgoing one. So it was a bit of a surprise to hear how formal you dressed and acted. Especially considering your avoidant nature. But your reasoning had clued him in to your unusual behavior.
It wasn't really your choice to go on that date. It was either Gon or you. And he knew for a fact you'd never allow anything to happen to that kid. You'd deal with even the most unhinged of people if it meant he was safe.
Your day, as you'd described it, was one of your worst. Starting off with a spat between you and Killua that led to your date with Palm. Doing whatever you could to distract your mind from it. Laughing, flirting, the hand holding. (He didn't like the idea of somebody else touching your hands very much. Not when you two had done it first when you engaged in silent conversations.) At the end of the night, she'd even leaned in for a kiss, but that was where you stopped her.
You weren't so far out of it that you didn't know what you wanted. Who your heart wanted. And for that reason, he couldn't be jealous. Even without you explaining what happened, he never was. He's not the type to worry about the before. Who you were with or who was special to you. He respects your boundaries and trusts that you're with him now.
Which brings him to where you are now. Yet another biological survey. It was supposed to be a short one. In and out. Kite had offered to go by himself knowing your preferences. But you tagged along anyway despite the humid climate. Which was proving to not be the best decision.
It had started pouring seemingly out of nowhere. The droplets pelting you and seeping into your clothes in a matter of seconds. It was a miracle Kite hadn't brought any electrical equipment. Underneath a sturdy tree had been your temporary shelter until the rain let up. But minutes had soon turned into an hour.
So what did the two of you do during this shitstorm you might ask?
You two had danced in the rain.
It was no secret you hated the rain with everything in you. And for good reason considering the trauma you had connected to it. But as much as you hated the rain you loved dancing. It had taken quite the bit of coaxing from the taller male to get you to agree. Rationalizing that if you were stuck here, you might as well make the best of it. Promising that if you hated it, you two would stop immediately.
You were hesitant to step out from the tree's cover, but nevertheless you took his hand. Your arms going up to his shoulders while his rested on your waist. Your discomfort soon melting away with the light movements. As if your mind was starting to block out the cold of the storm. Your shift in demeanor noticed by Kite who decided to whisper words of encouragement in return.
“That’s it. Just keep your eyes on me. Focus on me, love.”
And that was all it took to have you forgetting about your disdain for the rain. Eyes trained solely on each other. He couldn't help but notice that the droplets sliding down your cheeks framed your face perfectly. You were both incredibly soaked, but despite that, Kite continued to sway you sweetly. Matching the soft tempo you were humming.
“Kite.” You called out after a while.
“Yeah?”
And the way you looked at him with pure adoration, it made his heart beat in overdrive. He was sure you could feel it with how close you were. He doesn't think he's ever experienced something this special before. This intimate.
“I think I'm in love with you.”
Not, ‘I think I like you’, but that you loved him. It wasn't a case of mild infatuation or a meager crush, but love.
He smiled down at you, mirroring your soft expression.
“Really? Because I know for a fact that I'm in love with you.”
So no.
You may not have dressed up for your first date with him. But it didn't matter all that much. He couldn't say he was jealous when the memories you were creating together now were sweeter.
How could he when you were right here looking at him like that? Like he was the center of your world.

an: Men who don't jump to conclusions and respect their partners>>>>>
Hi there!! What about a Kite headcanon where his partner was doubting themselves, i.e didn’t think they were good enough to be with him. <3 you
Self-Doubts
Synopsis: It's a mystery how someone like you could have a partner who was seemingly perfect. It made you wonder just what exactly he saw in you. Though maybe you weren't the only one with these doubts.
An: I'm so sorry to whoever requested this that it took so long for me to get to!
It was no secret Kite was a good person. A man with seemingly endless patience and understanding. His profession was one of the more humble ones. A beast hunter who studied and gathered information on any new species. Hell, the animals practically flocked to him. The people he surrounded himself with were also pretty decent, holding him to the highest regard.
There was just something about him that was easy going. Managing to diffuse even the most heated of situations. A level head on his shoulders that led to him making the right decision most of the time.
And the way he was with you…it made you think that he was perfect. He never missed an anniversary. Even when he couldn't physically be there with you, there'd somehow be a delivery of flowers outside your door. The times he was home, he made sure to make every minute count. Whether it was lounging on the couch or going on a date, you were together.
If you ever had the opportunity to visit him on the job, he welcomed you with open arms. Excitedly showing you what he and his team had found. Loving and devoted. That's how you would describe him. He made it easy to feel safe and secure.
But some days, it really hit you how different you were. You didn't have some noble job dedicated to research. You weren't the most level headed when you were upset. Irritable even on your best days. You didn't have enough funds for fancy restaurants or special anniversary gifts.
Compared to Kite, you had nothing to offer. Someone like him deserved a partner that could keep up. Someone who didn't hold him back because they were normal. Ordinary with nothing special to keep his interest.
Sometimes you wondered what he saw in you.
What made you special in his eyes?
It's not like he intentionally pushed you to think like this. No, he'd never purposely make you feel lesser. Not once had he ever made any comparisons. He never commented on your financial status or excluded you from his work. He wasn't the type to put someone down just because.
This was an internal struggle.
Something caused by your own self-doubts and observations. The ones that said you simply weren't good enough. That there had to be a catch. There was no way someone like him was in love with you.
On days like those, your demeanor had shifted for the worst. Lounging around in bed curled up. Thinking, just thinking it was only a matter of time before he realized you were no good. He'd come in, break things off with you and leave. You'd never see him again, and the blissful memories of your relationship would diminish to nothing. You'd spiral, thinking of the worst possible scenarios before you'd snap out of it.
It was both a blessing and a curse that he was never there for those moments. Insecurity was something that couldn't be helped, but you always felt stupid for it when he came back and showered you with his affections. Feeling ridiculous because it was obvious he loved you.
But why was the question.
You'd never outright asked him. At least, not until today. It just so happened that today was one of the days where your insecurities were at their highest. And just who was it that surprised you at your door this morning?
Kite.
You tried not to let it show. To just enjoy the time you had with him. Yet you couldn't shake the negative thoughts from your head. A part of you knew that he knew something was off. Suggesting to stay in for your usual date night. You'd agreed, ending up cuddled on your couch while a movie played in the background. Your head on his chest, letting his heartbeat soothe your racing thoughts.
It was enough. The closeness was enough.
The sound of a phone ringing startled both of you. You got up and reached for your phone. No calls. A tired groan from Kite let you know it was coming from his phone. He sent you an apologetic look before answering.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Kite! Glad to see I've got the right number.”
It was a voice you didn't recognize. Their friendly tone only made your heart start to race. When he'd said their name with familiarity, you'd officially started spiraling again.
“Can I help you?”
“Are you by any chance busy?”
He briefly glanced over at you. No. No he wasn't busy at all. You went to get up, wanting to give him some privacy. But he stopped you. Mouthing a ‘I’ll be done in a minute. Promise.’ His attention returning to the other person on the line right after.
“Why do you ask? Did something happen back at base? If it's serious I'm sure I can make my way there.”
Always considerate. You wanted to tell him it was okay. That he could go take care of what he needed to. But…
“No nothing bad….I was just wondering if you'd like to accompany me to a nearby bar. I heard you were in town and thought I'd ask.”
But this wasn't something revolving around his work. And it scared you. He wasn't the type, but he deserved someone better. Maybe this person was better. A stable job. Patience and grace. Confidence.
You wouldn't be upset if he said yes. He looked towards you once more before answering.
“Sorry. I'm spending time with my partner right now. If something pertaining to our work happens, you can call me back. Until then, have a good night.”
With that, he hung up. The question of why ringing in your head. Why did he choose you? Over who? You couldn't help but ask.
“Who was that?”
“One of my new co-workers for the time being,” he answered.
For the time being. Because different surveys required working with different people. A temporary colleague. Nothing more, right?
“And you're not gonna go?” you questioned.
Because you didn't want to hold him back.
But it felt like he wasn't even entertaining the thought. Moving close to you and bumping his forehead to yours.
“Of course not. My days off are reserved for you. I'm away from you enough as it is.”
“We still have tomorrow. You should go enjoy yourself.” You tried again. It almost sounded like you were pleading.
He leaned back to properly read your expression. Though you were sure he could sense your negative feelings. Somehow know exactly what was running through your head.
“Why do you want me to go so badly?”
You struggled to answer. Usually you were able to quell your doubts. You would've been able to if it weren't for that phone call. Maybe you were selfish for wanting to keep him when someone better was offering.
You wanted him to go because you weren't enough.
You felt him cup your face. Trying to get you to look at him.
“Hey, what's wrong?”
That was all it took for you to say it.
“Why?”
He looked at you with a confused expression.
“Why what?”
“Why are you with me? Why did you choose me over them? I mean, they clearly sound interested and you don't gain anything dating me.” The words seemed to tumble out before you could stop them.
“Is that what you think?” Kite asked. His tone in complete disbelief.
“That I need to gain something to be with you? Where's this coming from?”
You didn't answer. You didn't know how. Choosing instead to ask what had been weighing so heavily on you.
“What does someone like you see in someone like me? You give me so much in return for practically nothing. So why? Why me?”
He was silent for a moment. Trying to figure out the best way to approach this. To formulate a proper response. He knew what he wanted to say. But he didn't know if it would be enough. This wasn't something he was used to dealing with. How ever long you'd been dealing with this, he'd felt guilt for not picking up on it sooner.
“Why you?” He repeated. It was obvious wasn't it? The same reason you'd stuck with him for so long.
“I chose you because I love you.”
And he always would. There was nothing more to it. However, it looks like that wasn't the answer you wanted.
“But why?”
He'd caught on then. Inching closer towards you.
“Well, I like that you don't let people walk all over you. You stand your ground and you don't let other's opinions sway you. You give pushback when you think something's wrong.”
A hand placed on top of yours.
“I like how we can have conversations unfiltered. We can talk about practically anything. And how you always seem to know what I mean when something I say doesn't come out right.”
Your personality and understanding. He'd loved you for those things. But was it really enough? Did that make your worth even? Did it matter if it didn't?
“I can't give you the same things you give me,” you started.
You couldn't afford extravagant dates or gifts. You couldn't travel as often to see him the same he could you. You couldn't provide the same way he could.
“I'm not some hunter like you-” but he cut you off before you could finish.
“And I'm so grateful you're not.”
Moving even closer to you. So much so you could feel yourself letting your guard down.
“I like knowing you're safe. That I can come home and know you're there waiting for me. I don't have to stress out about you not coming back to me because of some job you took up.”
The whispers of insecurities were no match for him. Quieting down to nothing so you could take his words in full.
“We can just be together. Be normal.”
He didn't mind that you were ordinary. He wanted to come home to you. He just wanted you. You who was once again starting to realize how foolish you'd been.
“I love how understanding you are about my line of work. That no matter how long I'm gone, you trust that I'll come back to you.”
That you wouldn't leave him.
“You are more than enough for me. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky.”
He was so close you could feel the heat from his skin.
Maybe your doubts hadn't been a one sided problem.
If you leaned any closer, you’d be able to kiss him. A comfort you didn't know you wanted until now. Face flushed from his declarations.
“You’re more than enough for me too.”
Your lips brushing against his before he gave you a proper one. You were enough for each other in your own ways.
