The House Doesnât Always Win || Elizabeth & Stan
When: Present Day (Evening) Where: Century Casino With: Stanley @kirkstanbulstrode
âAnd that my friend is nineteen to your seventeen and a win for me.â With a wink at the tightened jaw of the dealer she reached out and pulled the large pile of token towards her with a triumphant, âCome to Mama. Alright good Sir, how about another round?â While the cards were dealt she lifted her cocktail glass to her lips and took a small sip.Â
She was attracting a small crowd and rather enjoying the attention. Elizabeth was wearing a deep purple cocktail dress with no arms, matching elbow length gloves, black heels and a small fascinator (she wouldnât be seen without a hat of some kind) and called a passing waiter, asking for another drink as she took her two cards. After a quick glance she spoke a quiet âStick.â and waited for the dealer to make his move.Â
She saw him turn over a six, four and ten and nodded, âOh boy, thatâs a toughie.â As the smirking dealer reached to take her tokens she continued, âHold on there, fella. I donât think you beat this:â she flipped her cards to show an ace and a jack and the small crowd before her cheered slightly, âMy people,â she bowed to them, taking her next pile of winnings.
