I don't remember clearly whether the manga gives information about this or not, but I wonder if Morphs are actually common magical creatures in the universe of SH? Or are they perhaps only native to the Soot Island?

I do think they mentioned 'Morphs are exotic / rare magical pets' or something along the lines in the flashback arc, but I never really think much about *where* exactly did they came from.

Based on that part, it seems that there is indeed only one source- The Morph's Forest. But there was no further information whether that is their (one and only) true habitat or not.

Also, since the Shadows never leave the Soot Island (as far as we know), they don't know much about other stuff outside, right? What if there are Morphs outside of the Soot Island? Is it possible for shadowfication and unification to happen as well?

I mean, look, they don't even conduct proper research on Morphs- They brush it off as something they must not do even though it could benefit them to a greater degree for Shadow House succession.

Because Shirley's soot power is transformation, it makes me think: If she ever gets her human form back, or if she never crumbled back to morph in the first place, will she be able to freely transform as other Shadows?

Imagine her mimicking her debutmates out of the blue as her way of showing them what her soot power is.

Imagine Shirley just popping up as someone else just to mess with others, and the pranks she could've pull on others by acting as them.

It will also be amazing if she could copy their voices or adapt their speech pattern, though that might be a bit of a stretch.

Since Kate is technically a complete existence of a Shadow, I wonder if she will ever be able to show her face later on in the series? Considering that she went through a reversed process, does that mean she could never get her face back?

I headcanon the reveal to be when she broke out the secret of the mansion, that the adults are capable of hiding their faces, and her existence as an anomaly to other Shadows, because what if they didn't believe her right away?

She needs proof, to show that she was, once, human. She is a human under the disguise of a Shadow.

I've been thinking about Oliver-Ollie lately, and today a question pops up in my mind:

What exactly is Oliver's soot power?

We know that his soot is a necessity to control his machinery, but we don't exactly know what it does. Is he capable of controlling things, like how Kate does it with Pan-chan or Mirabelle-Isabelle with controlling others' movement?

Is his soot some kind of energy source that's similar to Barbara, but more in a physical sense as it actually moves things around, like a gear or oil?

I don't know and I am curious.

That aside though, all Shadows' soot is considered to be an energy source, right? Due to the fact that it's all collected and made into soot coal, the manor most important product. Maybe Oliver's soot is similar to that, but doesn't need to be tempered with heat and can be used as is ...?

Context: John saw Emilico fell out of a window so he snuck outside to see more then he saw Kate running by. Then the rest is "Love at first sight" sequence

John is so wholesome and adorable,he can be show-off,annoying,brash,not very attentive,don't listen to others,quirky and noisy but he's a really good guy and he's respectful and he respect others' boundaries including the living dolls too

Also I think he's the "quirky character" trope done right,bc I heard there are some of those quirky characters who are flat out abominations and annoying shits who think they're funny but they're not and also zero likeable traits

For the whole thing, yes, I agree with you! On the surface, he's usually just seen as 'that one boy who has a massive crush on Kate'. A loud, strong, but air-headed Shadow. Although he may be annoying, he never has ill intention and understands boundary. John is a precious character who never disregards anyone blatantly, nor does he hold grudge against someone for so long.

Oh, believe me, we all do! Most, if not the entirety of Shadow House fandom, thinks that Maryrose-Rosemary is a definite lesbian pair in the manor!

Just as you mentioned, Maryrose sees Rosemary as her own individual, therefore she loves and cares for her the way a living being does to one another, rather than loving her purely because Rosemary is her "Face". Regardless whether Shadows know what 'romantic love' is or not, it is for sure that Maryrose loves Rosemary deeply, and vice versa, of course!

I mean, what kind of person would yeet themselves down willingly from a god-knows-how-high-that-bridge-is just for the sake of being together?

I want to know how much does the Shadow children know about the outside world.

I am sure they, at the very least, are aware on what could possibly be out there, but perhaps only through books and any written text rather than visual (maybe paintings, but maybe they only have paintings of other Shadows like from the first chapter).

I want to see their reaction when they see the outside world for the first time, but not as an adult, *just* as a child, literally. Purely curious, not running an errand or anything of the sort. Just, to see the world and how they react to it.
