Okay, here is a little rant... My boyfriend is forgetful, like literally his short term memory is the worst....
So my grandpa asks him in passing (while my boyfriend was heading out the door to work) if he would clean the floor... Boyfriend says yes because that's not hard at all and then goes to work. Next day is his day off and boyfriend forgets to clean floor, with no one reminding him that hey he was asked to do so...
Following day Grandma has a hissy fit that floor was not cleaned on boyfriend's day off and now boyfriend has lots of work (like two twelve hour shifts two days in a row), she cleans floor herself and when grandaughter arrives home from dropping boyfriend off (that is me btw) grandma tells me that she thinks boyfriend is lazy, wants to have a family meeting to express her anger and thinks boyfriend doesn't do enough around house..
OKAY SO HERE IS WHERE I TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS. First off, my grandpa isn't even mad he understands that boyfriend forgot, secondly I have nothing to even do with this. No one even told me they wanted him to clean the floor so why call a family meeting when this is between Grandma and boyfriend? Next: my boyfriend goes to college and works two jobs... He is definitely not lazy, though he is also not the cleanliness of people (his half of the bedroom is strewn with laundry and pillows lol), and does chores when asked and reminded... He is only home (not counting hours sleeping) about thirty five hours a week! Not contributing to the household? He takes care of the fish tank that my grandparents wanted as well as replenishes the fish stock when it runs low, all out of his own pocket... He has memory problems and we have before stated this to granparents that he needs MULTIPLE REMINDERS...omg when my grandma comes home I am going to tell her my thoughts, as this can all be solved by her asking if he will clean the floor once a week.. That way he knows what needs to be done and it can become habitual and thus he will have it ingrained into his memory that his responsibility is the floor. NOT that they often ask him to do it, it's just when they decide the floor is too dirty...
But no... angry grandma is like a primadonna princess who gets what she wants... ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH SOME PEOPLE, JUST SHEESH BE MORE UNDERSTANDING AND THINK STUFF OUT BEFORE GROWLING AND BARKING IN ANGER...
