UGH MY SON, MY PRECI--OK I’m going to skip my rantings about Gunther because I’ll go on forever LOL.

 I drew Gunther at an older age around 18 or so in this :’D It’s actually so funny because whenever I draw or imagine older Gunther, he looks about the same (I just love his current design too much!) but with longer hair. It’s my formula for never ruining Gunther LOL. However, my head-canon has always been Kippernia in the 16th century and not the 8th century, so I tend to draw all the characters clothing based on that era, and yesterday I started to explore and get really into it (it was 2AM...so you know). 

I also have a head canon of Kippernia being its OWN island near England and not in England itself, it just makes life easier by 1000% in terms of where to place it on a more historical position without creating an entire world or being too intrusive of 16th century history. AND SO, I also figured that since Kippernia is a fake island/kingdom, it can have its own culture, so I gave it a mixture of German, English, and Portuguese roots and inspirations (Gunther here is sporting a very Germanic knight outfit mixed with bits of English, though you can’t see a lot of it). 

I also noticed that around the renaissance period, men tended to have bobs instead of long hair which I DIED over because long-haired Gunther GIVES ME LIFE, but I made a very bold move and actually cut it short! 

/this is a big deal for me you guys please don’t mock me orz/  Because OF COURSE Gunther would keep in with the latest styles--he’s already such a fashionisto in J&tD ; U; And I ended up really liking it???? I’m shook. I was going for that pretty-boy vibe he’s always been about but much more defined with age. I also gave him a set of scars, which he hates and so he covers it up with his hair, and though I still haven’t decided what or who gave him the scars, I don’t think it would’ve been in battle, but maybe something rather embarrassing instead.
