a girl i did a play with told me she hated heated rivalry because it was written by a straight woman and that automatically makes it fetish content and 1: correct me if i’m wrong but i don’t think it’s ever been explicitly stated that rachel reid is straight, and 2: gatekeeping queer stories like this only serves to alienate us more from straight people. i get that maybe she just genuinely didn’t know that, but boycotting queer media because it wasn’t made by an openly queer person is actively harming the community and i wish more people understood that
