I made my mom a late Mother's Day gift like a week ago!! Its a kintsugi cup! Kintsugi is a Japanese artform. Its when pottery, porcelain, etc is broken and instead of throwing it away, the old is renewed by fixing it with adhesive and gold. I bought the cup, non toxic adhesive, and some gold powder online! :D When the cup got here, I smashed it myself and then I put it back together again! My mom had loved and admired the art form so I really wanted to do this for her. I unfortunately had a small cut on my thigh from dropping a glass piece so my mom had to help me get the pieces out with a tweezer.... Lesson Learned: Don't touch broken porcelain or glass. She was mad at me but she was happy over the gift. I originally wanted her to use it for daily tea but... I don't trust the cup =_= So she wants to use it for decor haha
