Kinik Chips Series - “Galaxy Shy” (NFT1000 Collection- #7 of 1000, traditional) Before the day ends I wanted to keep my promise that I would be posting a new NFT work every MWF. It’s been a struggle to stay on top of my goal but I am here now so I am making progress. Galaxy Shy is fun work. It’s a work about play, space and color. My first impressions of my work is that there’s something hidden, a power or secret perhaps. Just what was my monkey brain trying to express? I feel thoughts of uncharted territory and timidness. When I made this work I remember that I enjoyed coloring it and adding unusual textures. Photoshop layer adjustments open new worlds, new colors and it’s just waiting for me to find them — use them. Kinik Chips Series - “The Joey Enigma” (NFT1000 Collection- #6 of 1000, traditional) A lot has change since my last post I finally had the courage to post my first NFT on Mintable and I’ll be placing more soon. Last week I posted a work inspired by of my one of my Best-friends. I am blessed with having many wonderful and great friends in my life but Melissa and Joey will have special place because they have made my life/transition in the Philippines so much better with their love, care, time and loyalty. If Melissa was the sweet one in the group, Joey would be the one I can count on for serious matters of the heart, mind and soul because just like I, we experienced a lot of traumatic things. Things we would not wish on our most hated enemies. Our shared pain, empathy and our ability to strive to become stronger from every hardship brought me and Joey closer. Joey is bluntly honest but fair and tactful in her words. Her bluntness and seriousness sometimes rubs people off the wrong way and they misunderstand her. I’ve grown to understand she speaks with meticulous caution to those she cares about deeply. Pain to her loved ones is like dagger in her heart. She’s a voice of reason in the darkness of emotion. Even though she is plagued with her own demons she always follows her own light. Her pessimistic optimism is comical and I love her for that. She still laughs when she cries and keeps standing even if she’s smacked down by life’s 1-2 punches. She is a woman I will respect all my life, she is strong, smart, talented and extremely loving. If you ever have the pleasure of being her friend, you will never be dumb or stupid enough for her not to care about you. She loves unconditionally. That’s my Joey. Kinik Chips Series - “Chika-an” (NFT1000 Collection- #4 of 1000, traditional) This is my 3rd NFT to my NFT1000 Collection. Chika-an in Filipino means to “talk about something” and often referred to people who like to gossip. Filipinos love drama, you can see it our telenovela shows and music. If you hear your neighbors yelling or arguing best believe, neighboring people have quieted to eavesdrop. Being nosy is normal in our culture. It’s not for malicious reason but to kill the boredom. Gossip is fun and it’s juicy. Sometimes it can hurt others if you aren’t tactful in what you say. I don’t yell when I argue so I’m not worried about my business being shared around. This work is about our culture to listen, see and be nosy. I feel most Filipinos love talking and general so, this work reflects my people’s cultural traits.
