I asked in stories to finish the sentence “life is too short to...” Most overflowing responses? “To live someone else’s life” “To be afraid to love without second thoughts” “To be waiting until “later”” “To let toxic people into your space. Even if family” “To be be angry/negative”. . I echo every single one of these. . I lived someone else’s version of a happy life for years. It took a lot of courage to finally find the guts to put my foot down and live the way it works for me. . After being hurt and burned by love more times that I ever wished to have, diving into loving again was... terrifying. Someone close, though, said to me: “yes, if you love, you are going to hurt at one point, this way or the other. But feeling love is a rare gift. It’s worth all the pain.” Those words stuck. . For a long while I thought that “there is always tomorrow” when making a choice. Especially, when came to me. One day I realized that 15 years passed, but tomorrow never came. That’s when I realized that “tomorrow” is now or never. . I learned the value of boundaries. I also learned that boundaries are to be applied to ALL, even family, or they don’t help. . Sometimes making a change is a huge leap. Sometimes making a change it’s just a small step towards the right direction. I’ve learned that life is definitely too short to not try to make it be the best life possible. Regardless of opinions of others or their views. . Do you agree? Want to know your thoughts!
