        Inspired by life, 26 year old Hip-Hop artist from Birmingham, AL by way of Atlanta, GA, King Jai, brings an energy that is infectious.  Building a name across the web with his uplifting single "Blow" featuring songstress Yani Simone, King Jai displays an organic swagger that is easily accepted by all.   Climbing swiftly in the early stages of his career, I clearly understand the optimism of his single. 

        His latest drop, a hit for the streets titled: "Fuxk Shit" ft. Coca Vango (Prod. by The DrumAticz), is the song that introduced me to Mr. Jai.  I instantly felt that this song is definitely radio paraphernalia.  The beat is high in energy and appropriately matched with exuberance and straightforwardness. The chorus is simple and repetitive, making it very cathcy by nature. "I aint with the Fuxk Shit" has been ringing in my head for the past several days as I've been dissecting the content of these lyrics.  (Let's get to 'em)

        The song starts with a common phrase that exemplifies the intolerance for fuxk shit on global scale. "Yeen talkin bout money, we aint got no business" (being translated: 'gon' with that Fuxk Shit'). Essentially setting the foundation for the first verse, as King Jai goes forward to shed light on the 'Crabs in a Barrel" mentality that cloaks the minds of many people involved in the music industry.   He ends the verse with a bar that I feel is very honest and makes me wish that more people in the game would take notes and be real for once.  It goes "Moving these bars i don't move bricks, Man i aint got time for that fuck shit".  This bar speaks volumes.  Not every rapper sells drugs (not even the ones that rap about selling drugs) which is why i was excited to hear such a line. 

        The second verse belongs to Coca Vango.  A Decatur, GA native that has also been leaving his mark on the Underground Hip-Hop scene. The verse that he layed on this DrumAticz track most definitely shows a regional disposition.  Although this trendy style seems to be popping up on a lot of tracks, it meshed well with the production.  The content of the verse is mainly pertaining to the women he sleeps with and the difference between him, and their boyfriends (the Fuck Nigga).  Pretty much saying that he doesn't put up with the same fuck shit that they put up with, nor does he carry himself in a fuck nigga manner.

         The song concludes with Jai on the third verse, pretty much explaining how you have to adjust your surroundings to avoid some Fuck Shit that you may encounter.  All in all, the song is very cohesive, and maintains the theme of the song throughout.  This is a track that I can hear in traffic, in the club, or at church and immediately turn up like nobody's watching.

         As of right now, King Jai does not have any projects in the works, just pushing towards more opportunities and exposure.  When asked about his long term goals, he expressed that he wants to be a business owner in many capacities.  Some interesting things on bucket list of businesses were, Funeral home and Liquor store. Both of which makes sense, because, as long as there's people dying, there will be people drinking. 

I wish King Jai all the best in this journey and look forward to him stopping through St. Louis some time in the future.
