Can someone pls explain the kingdom lore to me? Like Kingdom the Kpop group. Iām really debating if I want to get invested or not bc, I mean nothings stopping me from making my stan list longer.

I uh.. made my own ālarge ratsā.. unfortunately without using āpinkā because despite having it unlocked itās not available (and neither are the other unnatural dog colors?). I would have liked to use cats as a base instead, as theyāre more slinky, but the default coat patterns arnāt versitile enough. Might take a poke around @plath-sims and see if thereās some custom patterns that could help.. (hello, pinging you again)
Hereās a āblack hooded standardā variation of my rat project. Ideally, there will be slight variations, as is the case with real rats. Did you know that ādumboā rats (ears on the side) are actually a deformity that messes with the skull in a similar way as Downs Syndrome? Thankfully itās harmless as far as I know, unlike with other deformities that are purposefully bred for aestheticism in other animals (*cough* rhodesian ridgebacks *cough* pugs *cough*)
Itās decent enough, but it needs more work. The chubby cheeks are cute and all, but theyāre the result of ear-switching to reset sliders, and not at all rat-like. Maybe a good base for foxes? Canāt seem to remove them.
Tempted to introduce a handful of these cuties as strays when theyāre feeling āwellā enough, and maybe add/alter some ROS events with a āif a rat is presentā clause for some Fun.

Madgrove is moving still, slowly. I was super into it and played five houses in a week, but ever since I hit the prisons and the auxiliary houses, it got less fun, so I ended up messing around in CAS. But soon, Ames, Adrianne and Findli are graduating from college and set to start their own houses! Rythio will be left alone for maybe a rotation before one or maybe two of the new teens will be sent away (and if not, Iāll be educating the repalcement newspaper lady to keep the college moving. Sheās almost a copy of Adrianne, so maybe Iāll designate her as Adrianneās sister, especially as they were both newspaper NPCās and have the same skin/eye combo)
Bonus points for Ames: heās the Drency heir and with Jaufre being in prison land, heās sort of responsible. Probably wonāt marry him right away because the house is too full and heās not interested in many people. The plan was to marry him to Lady Amethyst (a power couple indeed, theyāre both unusual), but with the feud another drency/madgrove crossover wonāt happen for a good long while.
I was going to break up Verrel and Jaufre anyway at some point - but it was going to be her leaving him and dropping into the church to study for the rest of her life after she gets tired of his shit. Not him getting forcefully removed. On another note, one of the new Drency teens - I think Galia(?) - ran away and is hanging out with the adventuring crew in Dabridelās shack - while her sister Bloisa (?) is a straight-laced family sim waiting for the right man, who MIGHT get an education. MIGHT (if thereās money). If Joham was still alive, that wouldnāt be a possibility.
Osei Appreciation post. Yes, I know this is dark. No, I didnāt feel like going into Gimp again to fix his face so that it is more visible, and I donāt trust myself not to accidentally whitewash if I bother with it any more.
One thing about him / his family is that Osei is from the south, even if he was born here, his parents were not. Now, for now āthe southā is a blanket term for a general area because Iāve yet to develop it (still working on greenwich).. but generally speaking, for now, people there are very smart and inventive - and the area is known for itās schools. However, theyāre also very secretive, and in order to learn certain things you have to be accepted into very specialized groups. Like fairies, theyāre xenophobic, but they go about it a very.. different, way.
Cyrus and Fenris/Rose are also from the south (this is where Cyrus learned his trade). Of interesting note is that Fenris and his family moved north to escape persecution there because theyāre werewolves.
Zalika (Oseiās wife)Ā is from.. somewhere. I donāt really know - Kirbyās wife and Levarās wife are both originally from traveling merchant families. I donāt want Zalika to be from there, but sheās not native either, based on her fey horns that no one else has. -shrug- It doesnāt matter as much where she came from tho because I donāt play this household unless I need to.

I need to start thinking about scent with my characters a bit more because.. I donāt think about it much.. at all.
I donāt know, I donāt think of real people in terms of scent either unless itās bad or strong. Which is probably why I donāt consider it much?
Might make a series of posts about how certain people smell. I already know of a few that have reason to smell.. different.. but.. I guess everyone has reason to smell one way or another. No one is scentless, especially if youāre a medieval person. :P (Although it was less stinky than youād think.)
Like, the catkin people all have really strong (not bad, most of the time) scents as a rule. And they all smell different.
And Harvey smells really weird. Like, he smells vaguely unwashed, but itās masked with perfumes and stuff, and on top of that he also tends to smell like ash or other various alchemy related things. The sort of smell you canāt ignore because it rubs you the wrong way but itās just interesting enough to not be terrible. Itās because he doesnāt wash his clothes as much as he should and just wears the same old whatever despite having the option to. Sure, servants could wash it for him, but.. that means he canāt wear the same old whatever.. and he likes wearing the same old whatever.

Sheās 1 of 2 fey here - John is the other. As I mentioned forever ago, fey are xenophobic as a cultural feature.. which is why thereās only 2 here and not groups of them like with elves and catkin.. John and Allyson are both a little bit Different from most fey, obviously. Allyson is also married to a human man and has two half-fey children, neither of which inherited fairy magic.
I do not have the mod in my game that makes fairies have ānormalā lifespans - all my fairies live the 2.5(?) times longer than normal sims. Allyson could easily live to gen 5 before passing away from age, so long as she doesnāt end up dying from other causes. John could also live to gen 5.
Allyson and John donāt know the other lives in this country.
anyway i posted earlier about my issues with settling on a style for elves - problem solved, hereās a baby, dressed like an elf and also is an elf.
This elf baby is actually a resident of Ulokea - not the elven lands. Sheāll eventually be old enough to actually have a voice but for now sheās just cute. She recently gained another brother, named Leofaren, who happens to be purple.
