David/Ace request of them hiding from a Killer. I hope you donât mind I used that as a base and added plenty to it, anon!
The Suffocation Pit, Ace knew, held a deeper story than what he was able to see. Â A large group of workers buried in its depths, bodies probably still there under compact dirt. Â Every now and then, the pits would be open, leading to a bloody basement with a cruel, untouchable shrine of hooks to the Entity. Â The part that Ace always looked forward to was the chest, which tended to hold better things than the other chests around the area. Â
However, he knew better than to immediately start looting, he had to at least do a generator or two, keep the Killer busy a little, and make a contribution to the team effort. Â He knelt to work on a generator, hearing the distance whirring of a chainsaw. Â That meant either Leatherface or Hillbilly, and the former didnât usually have any reason to randomly rev his. Â He was nestled into a corner surrounded by obstacles, so Ace was unafraid as he kept working. Â
The match was going well for him so far, getting a generator up without any interferences, and calmly moving on to another. Â There were only two left to do now. Â Someone was either really skilled at juking the Hillbilly, or they were all hiding from him well. Â Now was a perfect time to go looking for loot to bring back. Â He slowly walked through the building that held the mineshaft, cautious as his heart started racing. Â
He looked over his shoulder and spotted the chainsaw above the Hillbillyâs shoulder, charging straight at him. Â Ace scrambled through the side entrance out of the way, hearing the chainsaw collide with the wall behind him. Â The Hillbilly recovered with an alarming speed, chasing after Ace. Â Ace just had to make it to the window, and heâd be able to lose the Hillbilly without issue. Â He was halfway through the window when the Hillbilly yanked on his leg, making him hold onto the window ledge for dear life. Â
The sledgehammer smashed into his leg, and Ace swore he could hear something shatter. Â He cried out loudly in pain, using his other leg to kick at the Hillbilly and free himself. Â He more or less fell from the window, holding his left leg that was most definitely broken. Â The Entity normally didnât allow that to happen, the chase was ruined if one couldnât even run. Â Being helpless like this was not something Ace liked, at all. Â
Then the Hillbilly turned around and went elsewhere. Â Ace grit his teeth in a forced smile as he watched the Hillbilly leave and his heart rate calmed. Â He grabbed the window ledge to help him stand, any pressure on his left leg sent a sharp, agonizing pain through it. Â Alive, at least. Â Yet, he couldnât explain why. Â It was difficult to avoid the settling paranoia, there was no fixing his leg until he either escaped or died. Â It didnât take a genius to realize that. Â Heâd slow them down at best, and at worst, theyâd use him as a distraction. Â It depended too much on who it was. Â
He hated it, having to watch his back for both survivors and Killers. Â They could lead the Hillbilly to him, whether by accident or on purpose, and he had to stay hidden. Â He walked around the rocks and other garbage in the way, heading back into the mineshaft. Â He could find something to at least give his leg support, and be able to walk on it. Â Itâd be agonizingly slow, but it was better than the slow limp he was working with now. Â He froze when he heard footsteps, hiding under the ramp that lead above the depths of the mineshaft. Â
âAce, I know youâre âere.â Â
Shit. Â He kept a forced smile, even as his leg screamed in agony when he set it down. Â David turned the corner, eyes narrowed on Ace. Â
âYou seriously lootinâ right now?â Â
âYou all were doing fantastically. Â Thought Iâd go and get something to bring back.â Â
It wasnât an entire lie, but not what he was doing right now. Â David crossed his arms. Â
Aceâs attention darted to the pathway up as his heart started racing. Â David moved under the wooden ramp, Ace pressed his back against the wall. Â Through the wooden planks, they could see the Hillbilly walk above them and look around intently. Â He walked past, heading to the window Ace had fallen out of earlier. Â Ace shifted, the motion sending more pain through his leg. Â He almost screamed, until David clamped a hand over Aceâs mouth. Â
âDonât move a single fuckinâ inch.â Â
David shoved Ace behind him, keeping his grip on Aceâs arm tight and his hand over Aceâs mouth. Â The Hillbilly walked back over to them, moving right past them and into the basement. Â Ace stayed still, even as the Hillbilly came back. Â Somehow, by some unnatural luck, they werenât spotted. Â Neither of them moved until their heartbeats started slowing. Â David released his grip, putting his arms at his sides. Â
âThank fuck âe canât see shit.â Â
David started walking up the mineshaft, pausing when he heard a whine from muffled whine from Ace. Â Ace held his leg, still keeping up a grin. Â
âSooner we leave the better, yeah?â Â
David crossed his arms. Â
âYeah, sâalways the case. Â But, you canât walk, can ya?â Â
Ace took a step forward, wincing at the pain he felt. Â
âJust gotta take my time. Â Iâm still standing, arenât I?â Â
Ace struggled to keep the fear from making his voice crack. Â This was, by far, one of the worst situations he found himself in. Â David rolled his eyes. Â
âSure, barely. Â Donât bullshit me, youâre gonna get caught if you keep trying to walk on that.â Â
David, without warning, walked close and lifted Ace over his shoulders. Â
âOW, hey! Â David, put me down!â Â
âShut it, youâll lead âim right to us! Â Besides, Iâm trying to save your arse instead of leavinâ ya to hobble slower than a damn snail. Â Unless you feel like meeting chainsaw today.â Â
Ace sighed. Â Hard to argue with that. Â He let himself fall limp as he was carried across Davidâs shoulders fireman style. Â His leg still hurt, and any shift seemed to cause more pain. Â
âJust, donât let the others see me over your shoulders like a ragdoll?â Â
âFine, since your prideâs more important than your life.â Â
He huffed, not really wanting to argue more. Â Heâd have plenty of time to piss off the scrapper when he wasnât at his mercy. Â He felt David shift, and heard the distant dings of generators coming online. Â The gateâs switch lit up red. Â
âSettinâ ya down, careful.â Â
Ace nodded, leaning against the wall and staying off his left leg. Â He couldnât see it under the pant leg, but there was no way it was looking pretty. Â He fought back whines of pain, keeping an eye out for the Hillbilly. Â The gate slowly opened after blaring several times. Â Using the wall as a support, Ace walked through the gate. Â David crossed his arms, walking next to him. Â
âAlmost as stubborn as I am. Â Thâfuck are you tryinâ to prove?â Â
âNothing, besides that Iâm fine and can take care of myself.â Â
âYouâre a royal fuckinâ moron.â Â
Ace couldnât help a genuine, devious grin. Â
âAww, you think Iâm royal. Â Appreciate it.â Â
David let out a drawn out, annoyed sigh. Â
âItâs real damn tempting to beat the shit outta you.â Â
âSorry, Iâm a little booked at the moment. Â Maybe later?â Â
David just shook his head as he walked into the fog, Ace following behind him. Â When he reached the campfire, Ace let himself collapse next to it and let out a breath of relief. Â His leg still hurt, but now he had the chance to look at it. Â It was already a distinct purple color. Â David walked over, eyes widening slightly. Â
âShit, didnât think the Entity did broken bones that bad.â Â
Ace simply shrugged, giving a pained smile. Â
âI didnât either, but.. Hey, the more you know, right?â Â
âSit still, Iâll get Claudette to try ând patch that up.â Â
Ace nodded, catching his breath. Â Now that adrenaline wasnât running through his veins, it was painfully clear how much damage the hammer did. Â Claudette was in a sprint when she came over, kneeling beside him. Â
âOh, God, this looks really bad. Â Iâll have to really put something together. Â Just, wait here, okay?â Â
In an instant she was gone, leaving David to sit beside Ace. Â The latter let out a sigh. Â
David smiled, giving a light pat on the back. Â
âDonât mention it. Â Would do the same any day, even if I wanna smack ya.â Â
Ace leaned against David, laughing quietly. Â Â
âIâll try not to do that to show my appreciation.â Â
David just shook his head, holding Ace close. Â
