Folks who came into this already loving Park Eun-bin: I came into this show with The King's Affection somewhere on my to-watch list. I need a new binge drama, but I'm worried that watching it at the same time that I'm watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo will break my brain. Thoughts? Is it better to finish EAW and King's Affection will be there to soothe my soul later?

I will just write today my short comments while watching the episode. I’ll do it as short as it is possible because this episode was WOW in many ways. Also, few disappointments but I will mention them later. Please enjoy…
1. The death of the prince was a little weak and I was asking why it happened but after a few seconds, I was like OK, they need to kill him and king/pretend she is dead so Hyun can become the King and Dam-I can be finally free…. ups, my Sherlock blood has awoken 🤣
2. Father Jung's death was too fast, and I realized then, directors rushed the plot too much, seems like they were afraid they won’t fit everything in 1 hour. I felt very touched when father said “Do not forgive me” to Ji. Poor JiUn, from the last few episodes he is not smiling anymore. His beautiful face looks so sad it hurts my heart. And now father…. like everything else wasn’t enough.
3. Crying Dam-I for Prince was heartbreaking. Eun Bin is such a good actress, her expressions are like an arrow shot in the middle of my heart.
4. Dissapointing was that they didn’t kill Wonsan, why? What was the point in him surviving? Bodyguard Eun So, why made this mistake?
5. When I heard the idea of giving the throne to Grandfather at first, I was like “Is she mad?” why so weak? After everything, are you that mindless? Later everything begins to make sense. When she talked with JiUn, she finally looked and spoke like a woman, it was a beautiful moment.
6. When she sat down with Granddad, again my reaction was like: you have an actual war, and you sitting down to drink a tea? And she made it worse when spoke. Apologizing for everything? Thanking him? My mind was blown at that moment. Why is she doing that? Later, again everything started to make sense.
7. I love the scene when JiUn was running and slashing anyone who was on his way. Angry, running to save her from doing mistake…
8. Granddad’s death was in a few seconds and when she closed her eyes lying in Ji’s arms my heart stopped for a second. I forgot how to breathe…but then her face appeared with funny makeup. Everything was so ideal. I remember that scene from the preview and I knew it’s not real, it’s her dream. Just a dream but then again if she is dreaming that means she is still alive. Hopefully, that was it!
How did she survived?
9. The scene with Grandmother was badass. When, standing on the stairs, looking at Ki-Jae’s corpse, she said no funeral, no grave! With an emotionless face, she just throws him away like waste, rubbish. Yes, that’s what he deserves.
10. When she spoke with Dam-I, I cried…. she has a good heart and it seems she is regretting badly what she has done to her grandchild.
11. The best scene of all series (my opinion) – when Hyun became a king and Dam-I was kneeling in the court asking for punishment…. From the first to the last second it was just a masterpiece! When all the royal court team started to kneel and ask to spare her life… a flood of tears fell, I couldn’t stop crying even tho I knew Hyun won’t hurt her. He is the first one to defend her. But the reaction of everyone…God this was beautiful. Thank you, director, for changing the ending.
(I read somewhere that in the original story she died from poison, never read the original…)
And please, can someone agree with me – Hyun fits for the King so much! He was looking like a real king! Better than anyone! I’m happy he at least has this ending, there was no one better.
12. Ending. Both Dam-I and JiUn in the forest and on the beach, that was like a bomb with sweets! They are so lovely together! I know it’s not happening, but if they would be a couple in real life – yes! They have my 1000 yeses! 🤣❤❤❤
And finally, the “family” reunion at the end was just like a dot at the end of the sentence. Heartwarming, enjoyable, giving us a beautiful ending❤
Summing UP: There were a few weird scenarios in this drama, there were a few moments when I looked at the phone and wonder how long till the and…but they were only a few. In general, I loved this series and my heart will have a little empty hole for a few weeks without them…every Monday and Tuesday won’t be the same.
I loved most of the characters, the actors starring are very professional and took me to another world with their talent. I could write another 10 long posts about everything, there is so much to tell. But for today, let's just imagine them on the beach, happy and free. Thank you to all the staff who made this drama come true! ❤
