Can you explain how is the baby-sitters club racist? I didn't notice anything and I'd like to educate myself.
Eh, I'm noticing a lot of colorism so far. The entire cast of the babysitter's club is so white/whitewashed it makes me uncomfortable. But there are a couple of other things in the episodes I've seen that I'll talk about some other time cuz tbh I haven't watched the whole show and I want more context.
It's also been such a long time since I've read the books, so I may be reading into a couple of things too quickly that the book may have given more context for. But then again, I also like to view books and tv series/movies as alternative universes when they do book-to-movie/tv stuff. So it's entirely possible that when I do get around to rereading the series, there will still be things in the TV series that won't add up since technically, you should be able to get into the show and follow the storyline without reading the books.
Anyway. I'm trying to make a little list of things I've noticed. If I still feel that way about the series, I'll address it when I make an overall post.
