This was a really good episode. It made a great standalone story about how Ludofee ruled Mewni with an iron fist (or more accurately, a magic hand), but it also played really well into the BFM story. I loved how Marco showed his persistence as he planned how to fight Ludo, and how he even kept going after Ruberiot, Foolduke and the Mime all told him he was on his own. This episode was a great setup to the BFM finale, and it also set up for Ruberiot and Foolduke’s marriage and for the reveal of Foolduke’s lineage (she was the trickster who managed to grab the key from Ludo in the chaos after Marco got caught). Love it.
