the wonderbolt's view of the world spins just a moment too long to immediately respond, but it's shaken off with a snort before grinning upside - down at the other pegasus' exasperation. ❛ does that mean we have to start callin' you " granny shy " ?? ❜

a snicker, &, pushing off her back with the strength of her wings, dash lands back on all fours with a " hup !! " , stretching out her wings for a moment of pause, just to check they're unbruised. satisfied, thoughts of her one - pony - show regaling of aweseomness ( & coolness ) are temporarily shoved far aside, as a teasing little train of thought brings her to smirk at fluttershy.

it's not at all like he wants to go to the stuffy silly event to begin with. not at all. there's infinitely better things to be doing with his energy. it doesn't bother him in the slightest that everyone steers away from the topic in his presence, presumably to further hammer in how utterly boring the whole thing will be, certainly not something the lord of chaos would find interest in. this has most definitely not sparked an even larger flame of intrigue in him. how absurd.

( & a part of him has been cowed into sequestering itself off in the event that his dear fluttershy makes plans with other creatures. because it is fine !! he knows he's her favorite, & he's sure everyone else is well aware of it, so no one would possibly dare to be so arrogant as to presume true priority over discord. ... something like that ... )

yes, he most assuredly does not care about the event, & the beast of his jealousy is sealed off in a cage where he can pretend he's ignoring it, & it's all perfectly fine.

& then the aforementioned sweet, perfect, angel of a pegasus speaks these words unto him & the star system of his existence stutters.

a cough, poising himself into an air of nonchalance, a paw behind his back as he inspects his talons, a visage a bit at odds with the pitched sputtering ramble he produces in reply.

❛ ye - yes, well, i'm sure you will have simply oodles of folks clamoring for the honor of taking you, & of course i, well, i haven't looked at my mailbox in a short century, but i'm certain it's already bursting with pleas to allow them to accompany me, but of course there's no guarantee any of them are worthy of my standards ... but ... on the ... cosmically low chance neither of us have a partner by the time of the dance ... ❜

& oh but he really cannot help the way his features soften when he finally looks back to fluttershy. who can help their face around her ?? uneducated cads, that's who. ( & he should know, he once was one such ) .
