Some students took the initiative to practice reading our fall poem, which we read together every day during our morning literacy meetings! Students have been learning to identify uppercase letters in the poem, as well as commas, exclamation marks, periods, and other text conventions! A Year Two student decided to sort by object, then he chose one group (the pumpkins) and sorted that group further (pumpkins vs. gourds), then he picked one of those groups (gourds) and sorted it even further (dark vs. light gourds) then he picked one of THOSE groups (light gourds) and sorted that into two final groups (orange vs. yellow gourds) - such a fantastic extension of our understanding of sorting!!! #sorting #pumpkins #gourds #fall #autumn #teaching #FDK #kindergarten #kindergartenlesson #mathlesson #provocation #teachers #lessonideas
