To clarify: I’m not trying to say that he’s less traumatized than the others or that he’s enforcing the very system he’s a victim of out of pure malice or blind faith. I do, however, think that he specifically and intentionally ignores or avoids some topics and problems within said system because it challenges his understanding of the world.

He’s one of the characters in game whose loyalty is unquestionable. But I think that he’s loyal not to Fatui organization itself, but to his nation and his family. He loves his family so much he will do anything to protect them. And Her Majesty is also doing what’s best for her nation - for their nation - so it’s enough for Childe to pledge his loyalty to her.

Snezhnaya is going against the cruelest enemy and the scariest foe - Fate itself, Celestia. They’re the underdogs of Teyvat and once they’ve won, they won’t be treated as villains anymore! It’s all for the greater good ‘n stuff, you get me.

Does this justify whatever the fuck Fatui are up to? Not even the slightest.

Does Childe want to admit it? Probably not. It’ll shatter his worldview and he needs this faith to, you know, justify whatever the fuck happened to HIM.

He also shows little to no interest in inner politics of the Fatui itself and even his perception of the other Harbingers seem to be at least partly wrong. He’s not exactly naive, but some of his actions and statements do paint him as a somewhat naive person who is yet to be betrayed by someone he trusts.

And dare I say he looks like a person who doesn’t exactly know the extent of fake kindness people can offer to achieve their own goals. I mean, he clearly was really damn offended when he figured out that Signora was using him…

Gotta be honest - selling his soul to Surta and Skirk isn’t really against Childe’s moral compass since he’s seen to be obsessed with battles and being a useful weapon.

All in all: can’t wait to see the guy break:)
