So, a few weeks ago Thomas had been in an ethical dilemma: telling his friend he saw the fiance of said friend cheat or not. Since his friend was a dangerous demon who Thomas suspected would definitely shoot the messenger he had opted to text him and stay very far away for a while.

However after time had passed Thomas invited Jonghyun over for lunch. Preparing coffee, tea and some sandwiches for the other as he hoped to be a good friend and wait for Jonghyun to bring up what had happened (or not).

In the meantime Thomas had gone through some.... changes as well. There were lightened veins on his face and hands, the mark of having been possessed and forcefully getting the possession out of him which brought with him a whole spectrum of new powers and problems. But that was not the subject of the lunch meet, or at least, that was what Thomas thought.

“Hey Jonghyun!” he said as he opened the door for his demonic friend. “Coffee, tea or orange juice?”

Aoi was having really... Really, incredibly bad luck with storms lately. This was the second time in the past week he’d been caught in one! And this time he hadn’t even been wandering around all willy nilly, he’d just been heading up to the village to go to the market. But on his way back.... It had hit, when he was hardly halfway through the mountain trail. It would take several minutes to make it back to shelter either way. As it turned out though, once again luck was on his side for this storm, because he could see a shed, barely visible through the rain, but there.

He practically sprinted the last bit of distance to it, shoulders hunched against the rain, and burst through the door.... To see someone already there, staring at his sudden entrance. He really hoped that they were just taking shelter from the rain as well, rather than this being their home or some shit.

“....Hi. It’s... Raining a bit.”

The walls were wet, dripping with water from the sewage that ran through the stones above them, in the distance you could hear cars. Once in a while screams would sound through the sewers where Suwoong had taken his brother. Mismatched eyes locked on the unconscious body of his little brother. It had been too easy to take him, slip a sleeping potion in the food, watch him doze off and catching the demon before he hit the floor.

Suwoong did not know why he did that, catch his head before it hit the floor. 

Better not to dwell on those insignificant details. He then dragged the body through the catacombs out of the academy’s barrier into the sewers of the city. It stunk, human waste and dead animals made a perfect perfume for the setting in the chamber with iron rusty bars and a filthy old bed. Broken glass scattered on the floor as the geist studied the sleeping figure of his brother and his cold shades of hands touched over the skin of his little brother. 

He could not get himself to kill him, no matter how much he longed for the moment where Jonghyun would be gone. The moment where the demon finally paid for all he had done. 

in the corner was the body of an old man. Human, wrinkled and covered in blood. His guts were spilling over his lap. They were knotted into a bow. His face spoke of intense pain before he lost his soul. 

“Jonghyun, it is time to wake up.” he whispered “Jonghyun, it is time to wake up.”

The signs on the walls lit up when the demon would wake, demon caging spells. 

Suwoong might be forgetful, but he was no fool, he knew how to keep a demon inside. 

                 And oh, if he had chosen his destiny, this certainly would not have been the path he would have chosen. To be dead; what an awful ending to an immortal destiny. Yet his life had not been ripped away fully instead he had been cursed with this everlasting rage within his bones that made him tremble and shiver in the depth of night. When the clock struck midnight his eyes wandered over and he shivered. The gates had opened and he felt strong- stronger than usual. Halloween, my old friend. 

        The poltergeist wandered over to the place of his brother’s establishment yet he felt no need to cause rampage. Somehow it seemed that the added force to his existence by the powers of darkness had a strange effect upon him. Instead of feeling the need to destroy he felt oddly calm. What a paradox to be stronger by feeling weaker. He wondered what the purpose was of this strange happening. He sensed silver however and other things to keep him out. Reluctant he remained in front of the door. 

        He knocked. Thud. Thud. Thud. “Jonghyun” He called out, his voice loud in the silent hallway. He felt the time nearing, 00:09, his power peak was close. His toes touched the ground, there was a hesitation. Should he materialize? The Poltergeist decided against it- knowing how weak he would be to the clutches of his brother. 

        “Brother.” He called out “If you do not come out, I will have to find another way in.” He listened “I believe your lovely fiance is out, do you want me to find him?” 

“I stayed away from ya fiance.” Styles said first as he sat down next to Jonghyun and then put his head in his hands. “But ya know, ya gotta tell me, are there any other sexy demons ya have in yer grasp? I had a nightmare I banged a demon and then ya came from the shadows and killed me Fred and then Seademon. And now I can’t sleep.”

The high bookcases made shadows, deep and dark where books stood that remained untouched for weeks, months and sometimes years. Thomas had found these books interesting; once they had been written with love and care and now they were forgotten. Yet they might contain valuable information, stories that could change one’s perception of the world. He had been wandering through the dark alleys of the library, walking through tunnels of books when he saw a male in a silent corner. 

Curious he approached, brown orbs peeking over the other’s broad shoulders. He was drawing and Thomas frowned, such a macabre picture it was. A dark landscape with eerie figures in the distance and dead trees. Thomas shuddered as he pressed the books against his chest and bit his bottom lip. He felt a kind of sadness within the other male and it wrapped around his soul. Thomas had felt a lot of dark feelings in the past weeks within other students, much more than he had in his whole life. Yet this worried him to the point where he spoke up.

“Hey,” he started, breaking the silence of the library. It almost felt as if he was committing a terrible crime with just letting out syllables. “That is really beautiful.” He smiled, large eyes on the other male “But also really sad, are you alright?” 

The demon walked into the dorm room, throwing his bag in the corner and falling into the bed without saying anything. He didn't bother to pull of his jacket as he inhaled through his mouth and smelled the familiar scent of washing detergent and what was the unmistakable scent of home. When Jonghyun would look him in the eyes however he would see the demon had been crying, a lot.
