calypso slowly puts the box of baby clothes down on the dining table as if she has been caught red - handed, defense on the ready to try an ease any of daniel’s worries. ‘ it’s just the baby clothes, danny, it isn’t too heavy. ‘ she says with a small pout, before moving closer to him, taking his hands into her own. ‘ but, okay, if it makes you feel better- you can put them in the baby’s room for me and only if i get to help you put them up. ‘ she guides one of his hands to her stomach, she is a little over five months along, starting to show but not too obvious yet. ‘ i think the baby wants some homemade shrimp tacos from daddy after we finish, doesn’t that sound good, baby ? ‘

‘ of course, i do, lovely. ‘ calypso says as she looks at her phone, seeing him on it felt strange, but she acts as if he is far away; not just at the grocery store while she is at home, told to rest even though she is just at the early stage of her pregnancy. pout tugs at her bottom lip, as she pulls the blanket to her chest, hiding her face from view but keeping her eyes out to watch him go through the grocery store from what she could see on the video call. ‘ i need your kisses right now, danny. i hear that tummy kisses are especially good for the baby, so you should hurry up so we can get all those kisses in before bed time. ‘

the  question  has  elijah  looking  up  near  immediately  from  the  drink  in  his  hand,  curiosity  flickering  in  his  gaze,  as  if  wondering  if  he'd  heard  correctly.  “  you  don't  have  to  ask,  ”  and  there's  a  smile  starting  to  tug  at  his  lips,  amused  .  people  often  don't,  and  elijah  often  likes  the  surprise,  a  way  to  break  the  tension  often  built  before  it  when  he's  all  too  keen  on  flirting  .  but  he  thinks  this  is  sweet  too,  the  way  the  question  floats  between  them  as  if  he  would  deny  daniel  .  his  drink  is  place  on  the  table,  like  some  discarded  prop,  hands  now  free  to  pull  the  other  closer  .  “    is  that  what  you've  been  thinking  about  ?  ”

          “     i  could’ve  if  i  wanted  to.     ”     hands  close  in  tight  fists  ,  neon  painted  nails  digging  into  flesh.     “     i  just  would’ve  torn  his  face  off  in  the  process.     ”     dark  hair  falls  in  front  of  eyes  and  shoulders  relax  minutely  as  the  person  all  but  runs  away.  this...  obsessive  type  of  fan  was  alarming.  and  really  ,  cherry  would’ve  knocked  him  on  his  ass  in  a  second  flat  ,  maybe  caused  more  damage  than  necessary  ,  but  that  wouldn’t  have  looked  good  in  the  papers.  so  xe  let’s  it  be  handled  by  someone  else  for  a  change.  maybe  standing  down  sometimes  was  okay.     “     hold  on  ,     ”     eyes  flit  over  to  daniel  ,  brow  raised  and  corner  of  mouth  quirking  upwards  in  amusement.     “     do  you  think  i  can’t  hold  myself  in  a  fight     ?     ”     sure  ,  cherry’s  not  the  most  graceful  in  combat  ,  but  what  xe  lacks  in  technique  is  made  up  for  in  strength  and  speed.  even  xe  didn’t  know  the  extent  of  it  ,  just  aware  that  xer  …  lineage  gives  xem  an  advantage.

                    christina   ,   who   is   fresh   out   of   the   shower   ,   perks   up   like   a   puppy   who   has   just   been   offered   a   treat .     she   doesn’t   even   bother   to   get   dressed   ,   simply   wraps   a   towel   around   herself   and   bolts   out   of   the   bathroom .     makes   a   beeline   towards   the   kitchen   ,   where   the   smell   of   eggs    &&    toast    &&    bacon   greets   her   senses .     she’s   a   real   sucker   for   a   man   who   actually   cooks   her   breakfast   after   a   night   of   ...   extracurricular   activities .     she   considers   him   a   TOTAL   CATCH .     comically   slides   into   the   kitchen   behind   him   ,   clutching   the   towel   to   herself   and   giggling   excitedly   ,    ❛   i’m   here   !   !   !   ❜
