I don't think I can begin on how much I loved Kim's debut novel. Even through following Kim on her youtube journey well before she had a literary agent, I did not expect to adore a novel so much. The characters were astounding and the plot twists came out of no where, in the best way possible. It had been a while since diving into YA fantasy and reading Keeper absolutely rekindled my love for it. I was worried at first that I would only be able to see Kim while reading Keeper since I feel I've gotten to know her through her Youtube channel but my mind was entirely thrown into the Keeper universe where I could hear Maggie and Lainey so distinctively that I honestly forgot that I was reading something she had made. I love the balance between badass girl power, love interests and fantastically evil characters that Kim created and will admit without shame that I found myself crying in my bed in the middle of the night because of it. Keeper is full of action, magic, family, and has an amazingly nerdy best friend to keep you on your toes. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy but Keeper comes out NEXT MONTH and I highly, highly recommend that you give it a read as soon as possible! Kim is such a fantastic author and I cannot wait to read more of her novels - she has a WIP right now with the coolest plot and a potential sequel to Keeper if it gets picked up (which I have no doubt it will!) Give Keeper a read to support the Electric 18s and all the kick-ass mom authors out there!
