Hey! Are you willing to do a request (only if you have time of course)... so you know how people say the girls look for their dad in a man and boys look for their mothers in Women... well not in readers case cause she has daddy issues and she has trouble with opening up to Erik but he reassures her that she can trust him and that she can be vulnerable with him and feel protected. He promises her that he’ll watch himself when he drinks cause he knows how she feels about alcohol (bad)
Hazaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!! Here you go. Sorry it took so long (life is freaking crazy right?)
Hope you like it! it’s short like <700 words short
You were tired of this shit. You always swore to yourself that you would never end up with someone like him, but here you were, in love and stuck.
You woke up that morning to find Erik drunk and passed out on the couch after another night out with his friends. You hated when he drank, hell, you hated when anyone drank, but mostly Erik. He knew that you hated alcohol and why you hated after your many late-night talks about your childhood living with an alcoholic father and his childhood growing up with his grandmother.
For a while, he didn’t drink, and it was great. But now, he drank increasingly often, and it scared you. It scared you because it reminded you of your father and how you swore you would never end up with someone like him.
You paced your living room floor contemplating if you should wake Erik up or let him sleep it off. You chose the latter and grabbed your car keys and headed to the gym to sweat your frustrations away.
When you returned, you were still frustrated with Erik, and when you laid eyes on him, you realized that you probably should have stayed a little longer at the gym. Erik acknowledged you when you entered with a small nod of his head, he never took his eyes off the screen. You ignored him and made your way to the bathroom to take a shower. You let the steam fill the room before you stepped under the hot spray of water. You weren’t sure how long you were in the shower when you heard the bathroom door open and close. You heard Erik's belt hit the tile floor and braced yourself for the rush of cold air that was surely coming.
When Erik finally entered the shower, you kept your back to him which caused him to sigh.
“You still mad at me, Y/N?” he asked as he placed his arms around your waist and pulled you to him.
You shrugged your shoulders but didn’t say anything.
Erik kissed his teeth, “This that shit that I be talking about, Y/N. You never talk to me. It’s like you have this fucking wall up and you refuse to let me break it down. The fuck you want from me?”
You rolled your eyes but realized that he couldn’t see you, so you turned to face him and rolled your eyes again. “What do I want from you? Nigga, you’re always drunk or on your way to get drunk, and you know how I feel about alcohol. It’s like you don’t fucking care about how I feel about it.”
“Y/N, I only drink to have a good time, you-”
“Nah, I don’t believe that, Erik. There's some other reason other than to have fun,” you said as you tried to turn around again but Erik's hold on your waist kept you in place. “Erik, the one thing I ask of you is to not drink, but you can’t even do that for me.” Your voice as cracking and tears were filling your eyes. You wanted this to work with Erik, but how could it if he was going to end up just like your father?
Erik rubbed your cheek with his thumb, “Baby girl, I’m trying here, but you gotta be more open with me. I’m trying to make this work, but I’m not perfect and I sure as fuck can’t read your mind. We gotta do this together. I’ll cut back on my drinking because I love you.”
You looked up into his eyes and you could tell that he was being sincere. “And I’ll be more open. I’m just afraid that you’ll hurt me, E.”
He pulled you into a tight hug, “I’ll never purposefully hurt you, Y/N. you know that, right?”
You nodded against his shoulder and pulled him closer. The two of you washed each other before stepping out of the shower, drying off, and taking a mid-day nap wrapped in each other's embrace.
