"FeardotCom" (2002)

Did you know there is no www.fear.com? You would think it would garner some decent traffic given there is film that shares the name. However, the film and the web address are equally disappointing. It's a shame considering the director, William Malone, directed arguably the best episode of "Masters of Horror" entitled "Fair-Haired Child." "FeardotCom" is a loud, visually-busy mess that is filled with a lot of commotion but not much story. It seems that so much time was spent on constructing a visual style that the rest of the film was forsaken. While it may seem that a concept like this, that visiting a website will result in your death, is bound for failure, don't forget that there are similar concepts that are successful, such as "Chakushin ari". This film is boring, lacks in character development, lacks in scares, is over-scored, and feels like a giant waste of time. Stay far, far away from this one.
