message: hey nik i kinda went⊠a little overboard with it (like 3,000 words overboard) but u deserve it + more! i hope you like it ily
Adam canât really be upset about the whole thing, because the gist of this is going to dinner in a swanky, five star, food-is-too-small-for-the-plate restaurant. Thatâs the plan at its most basic.
Now, if you wanted to get into specifics, the plan is more complex than that. See, Fakehaus had gotten word that a new, budding crew was encroaching on their space, getting too friendly with crew borders. From word of mouth, the crew was small compared to Fakehaus, four people, maybe. Lawrence had dug up some dirt on them and found that theyâd been cobbled together from a now-defunct crew made up of a mostly white collar crime syndicate which had gotten busted not even a year ago. The new crew had risen quickly, gotten a name for themselves by selling their skills in torture to the highest bidder. Then theyâd branched out to drugs, hits, anything Fakehaus did.
The plan is Jamesâ: get in, bug the place, maybe figure out what the crew wants, and get out.
Adam shifts gears in his bright orange Lamborghini, James buttoning the cuff of his suit beside him. Theyâre both wearing them, James with a black suit Bruce picked out for him with a blue shirt Matt chose, while Elyse and Lawrence had dressed Adam in his grey suit and black shirt combo, a tie thrown in and everything. His tie is now in the backseat where heâs decided that he doesnât want to get food or blood on it (if it even comes down to it; in this business, heâs never sure where the night is going to take him).
As they pull up to the restaurant, Adam glances at James, who smiles at him like he knows exactly how the night is going to go.
Adam steps out of the car, walks around to meet James while the valet takes their car. James is still smiling as they stand next to each other in front of the restaurant, and Adam feels a sort of restlessness crawl up his spine.
âReady?â James asks, almost quiet. Adam feels Jamesâ hand brush past his, in reassurance or tenderness or both.
All Adam does is nod. As they walk up to the restaurant, Adam takes in the small part of the dim room he can see through the glass door. Itâs a swanky place alright, but the pictures online didnât do it justice. The glass doorway is the only window in the place, while the rest of the restaurant seems to reside in a concrete box. The name of the restaurant is scrawled on the side reads Argent in an overly complicated script.
From what little Adam can see, the place is almost packed, so finding their targets is going to prove harder than they anticipated. He just hopes these guys are as big of showboats as Lawrence told them they were going to be.
Before they get to the door, James jogs a little ahead and pulls it open for Adam, an action which makes Adam scoff and roll his eyes before he walks through the open door, James following behind soon after.
âI can open doors, yâknow.â
Adam can feel Jamesâ presence behind him as he scoffs, almost mocking, in answer. âNever said you couldnât, but I am still a gentleman.â He leans in to Adamâs ear. âSting operation date or not.â
Before Adam can comment on his closeness or even cherish it, James is pulling away and Adam holds back the noise that almost escapes him. The thing is, James and Adam both agreed a few months back that dating wouldnât be in the crewâs best interest. Relationships complicate things, yeah? So what if they kissed once? They still had an unspoken game of dating chicken. It wasnât an intentional one, just⊠Adam told James he didnât want to complicate their relationship and James respected that. But by now, Adam has acknowledged to himself only that heâs very wrong about that fact. He would date James in a heartbeat. But James is still giving him space, even though Adam is almost sure James knows that Adam wants to go out with him. Itâs sweet in one way, annoying in the other, especially with what this night entails.
James pulls away from Adamâs back as if nothing has happened and walks up to the hostess with a smile on his face. He gives the cover name for their reservation and the hostess smiles and proclaims their table is ready, picking up menus before she leads them over to it.
In their walk there, Adam gives the inside a bit of a once-over. Some canned piano music plays while people talk quietly amongst themselves over the small tea candles laid on the tables. Most are pairs with the odd threes or fours but in the corner, between the bar and a wall, a group of six people sits together, all splayed over what looks to be a black and white couch. Theyâre laughing at something while a blonde man reaches over the table and pours champagne into another manâs cup, this one with long hair in a bun, overflowing it on purpose and watching as the man displays fond irritation.
As they get seated, Adam takes the seat facing the party. The other crew. They really were not hard to find at all. Their mannerisms scream Hey! This place is a front for our illegal business and weâre cocky enough not to hide it!
The hostess asks for any drinks to start them off and James doesnât even open the menu as he says, âKrug Grande CuvĂ©e, if you have any.â
âGood choice,â the hostess says, smiling at them before promising their waiter will be with them shortly. James almost beams with pride as she leaves, and Adamâs eyes drift from James to the people in the corner again.
James leans his elbows on the table, lays his chin in his hands, as if fawning over Adam. âSo?â He asks, blinking at him slowly.
âThereâs six of them,â Adam murmurs.
âNo,â James pouts briefly. âI meant, what did you think of my champagne knowledge?â
âOh, that was champagne?â
James sighs, exasperated. âI wouldnât have asked you out if I knew you didnât appreciate the finer things in life.â
Adam lets his eyes shift back to James. He lifts an eyebrow and says, âYou didnât ask me out, though.â
âIt was my plan.â
âAnd then Bruce asked me out for you.â
âYeah but who told Bruce?â James taps the side of his head with his finger. âYou gotta look at the bigger picture, Adam.â
âWhich is what? You were afraid to ask me out on a fake date?â
James shakes his head. âNo! Papa Bruce just helped me by suggesting you come with me.â
âAh. Still unsure what the bigger picture is.â
Adam watches as James leans back in his chair and unbuttons his suit jacket. His eyes are soft as he says, âIâunno yet. Guess weâll figure it out together.â
The weight Jamesâ words carry make Adam nervous, or maybe Adam is reading too much into them. Either way, he clears his throat and jokes, âHope you know Iâll be rating this fake date at the end of it.â
âOoo,â James straightens up in his chair. âBetter make a good impression then.â
Adam thinks heâs joking but James reaches a hand out, lays it on the table, palm upturned, as if asking for Adamâs hand. Adam hesitates to lift his hand to meet it but he thinks twice, says to himself, Itâs a job. This time, itâs just a job. Not the real thing, not⊠yet. He lays his hand on top of Jamesâ, fingers hesitant as James turns his hand, links their fingers together, smiles at Adam warmly. God, he hopes James doesnât think this is just a job, because this is going to affect Adam one way or another. But, for now, and because Adam prides himself on being a professional, he does not dwell on how good Jamesâ eyes look in conjunction with his shirt.
As Adam dwells on not dwelling on Jamesâ eyes, their waiter walks up, champagne bottle in hand. He greets them and shows the bottle to James, who gives the label a once over while his thumb absently traces circles on Adamâs hand. James nods in approval and the waiter pours the drinks, Adam letting his eyes drift back over to the group in the corner. As he watches, he thinks of their half-baked plan. When Lawrence pulled up what little pictures they had of the crew, none of them recognized them, so it was a safe bet to go undercover with minimal cover. Bruce still insisted on parking the rest of the crew in a van in the alley around the corner, much to Jamesâ complaining. So they were covered, in theory. Adam still had to call Bruce if anything happened. Which nothing would, because as he watches the other crew out of the corner of his eye, he definitely does not recognize any of them, which is weird. The crew is new but the money is not, apparently. They have this place, which doesnât seem like it came cheap at all. But itâs their hub for anything, and so, here Fakehaus is.
Theyâre flashy, Lawrence was right about that. They have gold on their necks and logos shining on their clothes. Adam lets his eyes drift to the corner of their table and is almost startled when he catches a bearded man staring back at him, eyes discerning, a worn backwards ball cap on his head clashing with his expensive-looking suit. Before Adam can break off eye contact, the man looks away, showing no emotion on his face as he does. The man looks back to his group as Adam goes back to looking at James.
With a shock, he realizes their hands are still clasped between them. He makes a conscious effort to take his hand away and to play it off as casual, his hand going for his glass of champagne. James doesnât say anything about it, but rather, grabs his own glass and holds it out for a toast. After theyâve clinked, James looks at Adam over the rim of his glass, his eyes holding some sort of feeling in them. A feeling that Adam isnât sure is genuine yet. God, Adam is going to make it through tonight if it kills him.
â
The food turns out to be good. Really good. Adam is sad that the portions are so small and a little angry that this crewâs place is actually turning out some quality and legitimate shit. Why are these guys in the crime business if the restaurant business is going so well for them? Beats the fuck out of Adam, but he isnât about to start questioning motives.
Halfway through their second course, some steak for Adam and fish for James, James holds out his fork for Adam to taste some again, like he had for their appetizer round. And Adam canât find it in himself to roll his eyes again so he just leans in and lets James feed him, biting into the fish and potatoes. Itâs extremely good. Adam avoids moaning.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees movement at the crewâs table. With his eyes fixed on James, Adam tracks the man who gets up, watching through his periphery as he walks across the salon and heads down the hallway to the bathroom. Adam swallows his bite and wipes his mouth with his napkin, says, âBathroom,â hopes James understands his unspoken message.
The hallway is substantially quieter than the salon. He hears the sound of it die down behind him as he scans the hallway and its closed doors, the dim lighting not helping him in this case. He thinks he hears a manâs voice coming from the last door, a suspicion thatâs confirmed when the man with the baseball cap comes out of it, turning out the light before he closes the door without locking it. The man is on the phone, distracted it seems, and Adam takes it as an opportunity. He slips a hand into his pants pocket and feels for the bug that Lawrence made for them. Adam watches as the man walks down the hallway, not even sparing a glance at Adam as he passes, murmuring heatedly about âNo, it has to be tomorrow, at the warehouse,â while Adam makes his move, hoping and praying that the man doesnât notice as Adam slips the bug into his blazer pocket.
Adam doesnât stick around to see if he made him or not. He just slips into the bathroom and breathes a sigh of relief when he sees itâs empty.
Before he can lock himself in a stall, his phone rings, startling him, just a little. The caller ID says Bruce and he sighs, hates that he has to do this but the guy could still be here, be outside the door. Adam still isnât in the clear. So he answers his phone and says, âUh⊠hey, dad.â
He canât tell if Bruce is amused by the prospect of being called dad or not. All Bruce asks is, âAre they there?â
âYeah.â Adam replies, remembering what little coded speak Fakehaus has. âSixth of June, I think?â
âSix at a table?â Bruce repeats back to him, understanding. âDo any of them suspect you?â
âI donât think so, dad. And I donât know if I can visit yet.â
âOkay, eyes everywhere, but youâre okay. Listen, Lawrence mapped the place out and Elyse can get in and bug the managerâs office. You need to make a distraction.â
Adam furrows his brow. âIs mom going to like that?â
âElyseâll be quick, in and out. She needs five minutes, tops.â
âYeah, Iâm doing it. Pretty soon, too. Weâre about to have dessert.â
âSuit pocket, you should have a ring in it.â
Wait, what? Adam resists the urge to touch his breast pocket. A what?
Because Adam doesnât say anything, Bruce sounds persuasive as he bargains, âItâll buy us some time, Adam.â
Adam flits through annoyance, exasperation, tiredness, before accepting his fate. âThanks for momâs ring, dad. Iâm just nervous to do it in front of so many people.â
âYouâll be fine,â Bruce sounds like heâs smiling. âDo it at exactly 10 oâclock, regardless of if youâre eating dessert or not.â
âOkay dad. I love you. Text you when itâs done.â
Bruceâs answering goodbye is sickly sweet, saying, âBye, sweetheart.â
He hangs up and realizes, he hates Bruce, just a little. He stares at his phone while it flashes 9:50 pm up to him and he realizes he hates Bruce a lot.
Pocketing his phone, Adam heaves a sigh. God, he feels nervous. More nervous than he should. Now, he feels into his suit pocket and locates the ring, which is a simple, silver band. Jesus, heâs really gotta do this, huh?
As he walks out of the bathroom, he thinks about proposals. He doesnât think the time he proposed to Bruce as a way of scamming the government for money as an actual marriage proposal, mostly because they were drunk and young. So, basically, heâs gotta wing this thing. Fuck, okay.
Before he gets to their table, he locates their waiter and pulls him aside to say, âHey, Iâm about to propose to my⊠partner. Can you turn the music down or something?â
The look of enthusiasm their waiter gives makes Adam even more nervous, if thatâs even possible. The waiter scurries off to the back of the restaurant and Adam braces himself. He checks his phone. 9:53. Okay. He can do this.
Adam walks back to the table, noticing that James has already finished with his food. Adamâs food sits almost untouched but he canât even think about eating now. God, why is he so nervous? Itâs just something thatâs necessary to the job! It wonât be real.
He sits down stiffly. James gives him a concerned look which Adam shakes his head at. He positions his phone beside him. 9:55.
The music over the speakers dies down and the chatter around them dies down a bit with it. Adam shakes himself.
James leans in and lowers his voice as he asks, âIs the cat okay?â Were you made? in coded.
âCatâs fine. Itâs about something else.â 9:57.
Their waiter picks up their plates and asks about dessert. Adam shakes his head at the same time James nods and the waiter looks between them. Adam clarifies, âAfter.â The waiter nods knowingly while James looks so confused.
When the waiter leaves, James leans in again, eyes even more concerned. Asks, âAre you okay?â
Adam nods again. 9:59. He gets up abruptly and James looks at him like heâs seriously considering calling in Bruce to help with whatever is happening right now.
Adam clears his throat and says, loud enough that the people around him will hear, âHoney, IâŠ.â He gulps and finds his knees stiff and he gets down on one knee beside their table. Jamesâ face morphs from concern to surprise.
âHoney.â Adam says again, speaking loudly so that heâs sure he has peopleâs attention. The restaurant is mildly quieter, so he thinks itâs working. He continues, âItâs been four years since we met,â Adam remembers it clearly, smiles to himself. âUnexpectedly, you came into my life. But, definitely for the better. Itâs been such a joy to watch you grow so much. We both have grown, you and I, partners in crime.â At that, Adam watches as James suppresses a laugh. âAnd now, I want to continue to grow with you. For a while if youâll have me. So, I ask,â He holds out the ring. âWill you marry me?â
Jamesâ eyes are shining when Adam finishes. The salon is incredibly quiet, save for the quiet clattering of plates.
James sounds so fond when he says, âOf course I will, baby.â
Adam lets out a breath he didnât know he was holding. He slips the ring onto the hand James offers and stands as James stands, finding himself enveloped in a hug by him. He laughs a little breathlessly, hearing the people around them give them some applause. God, who knew fake proposing to your crush would be so hard?
When they settle back into their chairs, the people in the tables next to them share congratulations. Adam feels happy, in that moment. James looks at him like he hasnât ever seen a better person than Adam. Adam glances back to the corner where the other crew sits, looking at them while they talk amongst themselves. Theyâre smiling, and even the man with beard raises a glass up at them. Adam smiles, keeping up his cover and hoping he really hasnât been made, when their waiter comes back dutifully and offers them dessert. James orders one dessert for them and asks for two spoons. Adam smiles at the prospect.
When their dessert comes, James picks up a spoon and leans in, asks in a hushed voice. âBruce told you to do that?â
Adam nods, picking up a spoon and speaking as quiet as he can as he says, âDistraction for Elyse.â
James hums and digs into their cake. They both have a bite before James speaks again, his voice soft as he asks, âDid you mean that speech?â
Adam shrugs. He pokes at the cake, feeling like he shouldnât say anything but opening his mouth anyway, âYes. Maybe not the marriage part yet.â
Jamesâ smile is sly as he brings a piece of cake up to his mouth. âYet?â
âItâs our first date. Think itâs a little early to talk about so much commitment.â
âOop. Donât wanna scare the baby!â
Adam kicks him softly under the table. Finds his foot stays tangled between Jamesâ after heâs done.
â
The restaurant gives them a discount on their dessert but the bill is still very high.
When they leave, they tip the valet guy and drive around the block, taking a convoluted route to get back to the stakeout van where theyâre supposed to meet. Adam leaves the car a street over and they walk to the van, waving to Matt who sits in the driverâs seat.
Bruce opens the door in the back after James knocks and asks, âHowâd it go?â
âGreat,â James says as he climbs into the van. âGot a ring I can pawn off now.â He flashes his hand to James and Elyse who nod appreciatively while Adam gives Bruce his best (fake) annoyed look. Bruce just rolls his eyes at him and helps him in the van, closes the door.
They settle in as Bruce asks, âWas the whole crew there?â
Adam shrugs, âI think so. They were partying it up big time. Two women and four men, but there could be more. The place was packed, Bruce. You wouldnât think itâs a cover.â
James chimes in with, âMaybe it wasnât. The food was so good, Iââ
Thatâs when Lawrence cuts in, his voice nervous as he pulls off his headphones. âGuys? You might want to hear this.â
He unplugs the headphones and turns up the volume on the laptop.
ââhaus?â A voice floods the van. âFakehaus, hello? Are you there?â Adamâs eyes widen when he realizes he recognizes the voice. He heard it earlier, in the hallway, when he dropped the bug in the manâs pocket and the man walked past, speakingâ âHope you are, because if you arenât thatâd be unfortunate. Anyway, donât know what your play was but your burglar left our window unlocked and your bug guy looked nervous. Was that proposal real, by the way? Looked real. If it wasnât, it was convincing as hell. Hey, maybe you just came here to our restaurant in our turf to propose to each other. Some sort of weird power move. But, whatever. Just, if you want to talk, weâll be here. Come visit us, itâll be fun. Hope something is recording this because thatâd be a waste. Okay, goodnight!â The bug sounds like itâs dropped or mishandled before it goes dead.
Adam stares at Lawrenceâs equipment in abject horror.
âWell.â James says. âCatâs out.â
Bruce stifles a laugh.
âWait,â Lawrence says, âPicking something up on the bug Elyse left.â He taps a few keys on his laptop and fiddles with the equipment before another voice comes through the speakers, a different man speaking, saying, âFake Chop crew, out!â The bug goes dead, too.
Adam leans against the wall of the van while James scrubs a hand down his face. Bruce shakes his head. âJeez.â
âWhat just happened?â Elyse asks.
James replies, âI think we just got played.â
Now, Bruce actually laughs. âElyse, go tell Matt we gotta go. You two,â he motions to Adam and James. âWork out your prenup later.â
Adam glares at him just a little as Elyse climbs out of the back. As Matt turns on the van and starts driving, James shuffles over to sit in front of Adam. Adam notes how Bruce leaves Adamâs side and settles into the other side of the van.
James asks, âPrenup?â
Adam shakes his head. âIâll just take the ring back.â
âOuch,â James says but takes off the ring anyway, plays with it in his hands. Says, âInstead of a prenup, how about a second date?â
Adam pretends not to notice Bruce and Lawrence staring at them. He replies, âOne condition. We donât go back to that place.â
James huffs a laugh. âThatâs a hard yes.â
Smiling, Adam says, âThen itâs a hard yes.â
âStop talking about being hard!â Lawrence cuts in while Bruce laughs. James throws him the ring to shut him up but it just makes the laughter peak.
God, his crew is made up of assholes. Adam just makes a mental note to ask Bruce about the totally unplanned ring in his suit jacket later. He has an inkling of whose idea it was and the answer probably rhymes with everybody in the fucking crew.

Summary:Â The Fake AH Crew retreat after their failed heist and the do the only thing they can do:Indulge Jeremy and embrace their tourist status. (Now with added Funhaus!)
A/N: Co-Written with @forensicbec
The Fake AH Crew shoved their way through crowds of people as they emerged from London Bridge station. Geoff had his arm around Jackâs shoulders, mumbling to her about how the plan should have worked if only theyâd just blended in. Jack gestured to the rest of crew. They were each wearing their own âI heart Londonâ sweaters, with the exception of Ryan who hung back desperately trying to rub off the Union Jack face paint Jeremy had given him in his sleep.
âWell, at least weâre blending in now,â Jack said. Geoff rolled his eyes and muttered something about how it doesnât matter now.
âWhyâre we here? London Bridge is naff,â Gavin knocked shoulders with a commuter desperately trying to enter the overcrowded station. Jeremy linked their arms together and pulled Gavin close,
âBecause weâre in London and itâs a bridge, yâknow, of London,â
âIf it was so important, why did we go to five other stations beforehand?â Michael said.
âHow was I supposed to know that there wasnât an elephant or a castle. At least this one actually has a bridge.â
âBut it is literally just a bridge!â Gavinâs head fell back against his shoulders.
âAh, but itâs not just a bridge,â said a gentleman dressed as the grim reaper. Michael had only seconds to think before he had an armful of Gavin Free.
âFlippinâ heck,â Gavin cursed. The actor in front of them smirked at the response heâd elicited. Michael glared at his boyfriend but kept a firm grip as the actor stepped closer to their group.
âThe London Bridge has been around for many years and itâs filled with dark secrets of war, fire and even death!â The actor leaned further forward. Ryan only snorted.
âSounds like a Tuesday,â he said. The actor raised an eyebrow at him but pressed on,
âYou can take a trip through time and learn all of the gruesome details at the London Bridge Experience,â the actor continued. Jeremy sucked in a breath, ready to turn to Geoff and beg to go. Before even one word could tumble from his lips, Geoff sighed.
âFine,â he said.
The actor perked up and pushed a leaflet into Geoffâs hands.
âIf you look behind me youâll see the box office, where you can pick up your tickets. Theyâll give you directions to the attraction but be warned â itâs scaAaAaAry.â The actor waggled their fingers and smiled at the group. Geoff simply pushed past him, leading Jack and the rest of his crew across the street. Ryan stopped by the actor, glaring down at him through streaks of red, white and blue.
âAre there any stairs?â Ryan asked. The actor swallowed and slowly shook his head. Ryan suddenly beamed, patting the man on the shoulder and briskly walking to catch up to the others. On the other side, Michael finally dropped Gavin down onto the ground.
âAre you sure you want to do this, Geoff? We all know how much of a scaredy-cat you can be.â Michael nudged his bossâ arm with the most devilish grin painted upon his face.
âIâm fine, Iâm the biggest crime boss in Los Santos Iâm not going to lose it because of a shitty attract-â
Geoff shrieked the end of his sentence as a woman popped up from behind the counter.
ââEllo loves, how can I help you?â She didnât seem to notice the pamphlet shaking in Geoffâs hands.
Under his breath Jeremy whispered,
âOh my god, she sounds like Gavin.â Gavin slapped the back of his hand, scowling down at the small little smile Jeremy graced him with in return.
âWeâd like to get tickets to the London Bridge Experience please,â Jack pushed Geoff out of the way to lean on the counter.
âOf course my loves, what time?â The womanâs fingers tapped over a keyboard.
âOh, well, let me check,â Jack looked down at the new sparkly watch Geoff had bought her just yesterday that matched her new earrings. âItâs 11am,â she said. The woman looked back, puzzled.
âYes, I know but what time would you like to take the tour?â She asked. Jackâs mouth opened in realisation. She let herself laugh at her own stupidity as Geoff cackled in the background. He choked on his laughter after a swift heel to the nuts.
âWhenâs the next tour?â Jack smiled sweetly as if she hadnât castrated her own boyfriend. The woman before her chose to ignore it but the slight smirk on her lips suggested she saw.
âOh, itâs actually in about fifteen minutes. Would you like to buy tickets to that one?â Jack nodded at the lady. The faster they did this the faster Jeremy would shut up. âWell, for six of you it will cost ÂŁ19.99 per person, so it will cost ÂŁ119.70 for your whole group.â Behind Jack, Geoff mouthed the price and grabbed Jackâs wrist for support. The lady continued, âyou can also opt for the ultra fast pass which includes a personalised gift and souvenir for only ÂŁ30.00 more per person!â Jeremy turned to Geoff, his eyes wide and already watering as he prepared the longest, most affectionate declaration of love in an attempt to get their boss to agree. Geoff didnât wait to hear it and with one shake of the head, it was decided.
âWeâll just take the normal tickets please,â Jack said. The woman started to tell them about some other offers they could take but she was shot down.
âOkay, the final price is ÂŁ119.70 then for your whole group,â she beamed.
Geoff was having trouble breathing as Jack pulled out his credit card to pay for it all. Gavin, in an effort to make up for yesterdayâs disaster, nudged Jack out of the way.
âWell love,â Gavin pulled his golden glasses down just slightly so that she could see his dazzling eyes, ââm sure that you could give us a better deal than that, knock off a few bob for us,â Gavin purred.
âBloody Americans, always mocking us,â she muttered before composing herself, âNo, sorry. This is the best deal I can give you.â Gavin stumbled backwards into Michaelâs arms. Michael looked down at him as Gavin stared straight up and looked right through him.
âAre you alright there Gav?â Michael tried to get him stand upright. Gavin lay limp in his arms.
âS-S-She called me American,â Gavin spat.
âYeah, whatâs wrong with that?â Michael glanced towards Jack as she collected their tickets.
âItâs the worst thing she could call me Michael!â
âFuck you,â Michael dropped his boyfriend.
Jack turned around at that point and raised an eyebrow as Gavin sat up and rubbed his arse.
âMichael, Gavin â stop fighting or youâll have to go back to the hotel,â Jack said.
âOh thank god,â Michael turned on his heel, ready to leave. Jeremy snatched up his hand and held him back. He dragged Michael along behind Jack as she led the way to the attractionâs entrance.
âItâll be fun, Michael,â Jeremy reassured but Michael wasnât convinced. If only there had been an elephant and a castle, they wouldnât have to drag Geoff around the scary attraction.
âYeah, Michael itâll be fun,â Gavin prodded Michaelâs shoulder. Michael shook him off.
âI give it five minutes until youâve wet your pants, Ryanâs punched an actor and Geoffâs on a plane back to Los Santos,â Michael said.
âIâm not scared Michael,â Gavin said.
Under the bridge, where the attractionâs entrance lay, they were greeted with some eerie childrenâs rhyme. Michael didnât miss the way Gavin suddenly took a hold of his hand, squeezing just slightly as the music grew louder. Geoff was actively trying to pull away from Jack, muttering âno, no, no,â underneath his breath. Jeremy dropped Michaelâs hand to grab Ryanâs instead and the pair danced along to the eerie tune. At the entrance, Geoffâs protests picked up and he was leaning away from Jack with all of his might.
âGeoff you can do this, itâs just a tour. Youâre the biggest crime boss in Los Santos, remember?â Jack said. Geoff shook his head wildly side to side.
âThat doesnât matter here Jack, that man said it was gonna be scAaAaAry and you and I know, I donât do scary.â Jack shoved him inside, moving him towards the ticket booth. She glanced backwards to check they were all still there.
Gavin and Jack boxed Geoff in and kept him in one place as Jack handed their tickets over.
âOh, looks like weâve got two big groups going on this tour today. Thatâs good, less of a chance youâll get picked, eh.â The teenager behind the ticket booth said. Jack nodded, thankful that Geoff stood a chance at surviving the tour. She pushed him through the turnstile and instantly regretted it.
âJack, Jack â what the fuck is that? Why is it looking at me?â Geoff tried to run past her and back through the turnstile but Jack stood firm and pushed him forward.
âItâs just a puppet Geoff, it canât hurt you. Itâs not going to hurt you,â Jack said though even she shivered as she walked past it. Gavin buried his head in Michaelâs shoulder as they walked through. Jeremy admired the puppet and pointed it out to Ryan. Ryan smiled at it.
âSo whereâs this other group then,â Michael said as he leaned against the wall. Gavin tucked himself against his side, âI bet theyâve chickened out.â
Barely seconds after the accusation had left his lips, their ears perked up as the other group entered.
âDid we all make it? Letâs see: Elyse, James, Lawrence, Bruce, Peake? Whereâs Peake?â Adam cupped his hands over his mouth yelling, âPeake!â
âIâm here, Iâm here,â Peake stepped past James and Elyse so that Adam could see him.
âOh thank god, I thought weâd lost you,â Adam wrapped his arms around Peakeâs shoulders and pulled him close. The teenager in the ticket booth cleared his throat,
âCould I see your tickets, sir?â He asked. Adam pulled away from Peake and clapped his hands together.
âOf courseâŠâ Adam looked at Elyse, âtickets?â The blonde woman shook her head.
âNot me, I thought Bruce had them,â she looked up at Bruce who threw both hands to the side and shrugged.
âI thought James had them,â Bruce said but even James shook his head and pat down his pockets.
âHere,â Peake slipped the teenager their tickets.
They eventually made it through the turnstile and Adam walked backwards as he explained to his crew that this was the best thing that they could do since their plans had fallen through.
âLook, weâre criminals in England with nothing to do, we might as well blend in and do touristy things,â He almost tripped over his own foot as he tried to follow the winding path of the queue.
âYouâre not doing a very good job of it, look at you, you look like shit!â Geoff jabbed an accusing finger in their rival crewâs direction. Adam shrieked and fell backwards, toppling into Michaelâs unwilling arms. The Jersey man groaned as he pushed Adam off of him.
âSeriously? Is this how itâs gonna be?â
âWhat are you guys doing here?â Elyse grabbed Jackâs hand and kissed her knuckles, ânice earrings!â Jack pushed her earlobe forward to give Elyse a better look.
âMichael got them for me at the Tower of London, arenât they beautiful?â Jack said. James rubbed circles around Adamâs back, whispering reassurances into his boyfriendâs ear.
âTower of London? We were going to head there to steal the crown jewels but itâs been on lock down since yesterday,â Bruce said. Jack quickly glanced towards the teenager in the ticket booth but was relieved to see heâd slipped some earphones in.
âYeah, well, itâs because we were there to steal the crown jewels.â Geoff puffed up his chest.
âOh cool, did you get them?â Bruce raised his eyebrow in Geoffâs direction. Geoff deflated.
âNo because Gavin just had to have some stupid golden gun.â
âAh, well, weâll get them next time.â Bruce smirked.
âShame we didnât get to go though, I quite enjoy all that historical stuff,â Lawrence said.
It was like a switch had been flipped and suddenly Jeremy was upon him, jumping up and down on the spot as he pulled out Michaelâs phone.
âAw man, you missed out â it was so, so awesome like there was a gun dragon, a gun dragon! And, and like, I watched this thing right, youâll never believe who managed to breach the tower.â Lawrence listened with the occasional nod, entranced by Jeremyâs re-enactment of the day. His boyfriends were less enthused and at times, Ryan mouthed along with Jeremyâs words as he knew the account by heart. Before Jeremy could explain how badly their heist had failed, the tour guide had come to collect them. She slunk through the shadows and then suddenly appeared. As Geoff and Adam screamed in unison, Michael found himself once again carrying Gavin.
âYouâve got to stop this, dude,â Michael said. Still, he carried Gavin through to the next room.
