God that lapis post is making me think of whalefall parallels and how both Dino and Lapis never really got to like. Have a life before everything. Lapis was poofed so shortly after her creation but Dino was just. Outcast from the very beginning and thrown into a war and was one of its only survivors because she ran and hid and was completely alone and afraid for so long afterwards. you both have to deal with the fact that what has happened to you has changed you in ways that can’t ever really go away and you lost so much to it because of a war you were just kind of dragged into. Dino wouldn’t really wonder what it could’ve been like otherwise like Lapis does but I think the fact that she’s just as horrifically undersocialized (probably moreso because she ran off relatively soon after her creation) and just as paranoid and scared and traumatized and hurt is just like. i feel like both of them would feel guilty about having feelings of relief that someone else understands what it was like yk? you were made and you were so new to the world and you suffered because of it. The way you are now is basically all you’ve ever known, even if you’re in a better place now
