“Kieran,” Sylvianne cooed, reaching to cup her hands around her best friend’s jaw, “Darling, angel, love of my life.” They’d reached the end of a bottle of wine that she’d brought from home– and now they sprawled across her bed, flush faced and snickering. Her legs had lost their ability to work and her throat and chest was stained red, they’d dropped their jackets somewhere along the floor and prompted Alexa to put on something to dance to.
His head tilted, and sleepy eyes blinked at her in response. For her sake, he spoke French, saving her from deciphering the brogue that slipped around already accented words. “What?” They’d decided to go out tonight, but her shoes were still by the door and they were already obliterated by their pre-drink. Sylv really had to stop skipping lunch.
She leaned in, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose before settling to lay against his side, her head propped up by his arm. “I love you best, don’t tell anyone else.”
