Fic ask game: Fiberglass and Found Family series: whatever you want
You know what? I’ve never done DCMK for this game.Â
So, in the magic kaito manga, there is an arc early on where Kaitou KID gets attacked and nearly replaced by a robotic version of himself who is convinced that A) he’s the real Kaito Kuroba and B) that if he downloads Kaito’s memories, he’ll truly become human. KIDbot also murders a few people. And dies himself.Â
In the fic, after KIDbot dies/is destroyed... Doctor Agasa finds him and takes him back to his house to be fixed. Agasa manages to fix him, with Ai and Conan watching bc what the hell, that’s a person??? And when KIDbot turns on again, he’s upset since him “dying” meant that he was alive (at least, it meant that to him). They’re all really distressed and now they have a depressed robot who they don’t know killed a man in their home.Â
And the three humans try to help KIDbot. At first, Conan and Ai only do it bc KIDbot looks like Shinichi and they’re really suspicious until KIDbot admits that he was designed to look and act like Kaitou KID (at this point, KID has already disgusted himself as Shinichi successfully). It would be really convenient for them to have their own Shinichi look alike. But KIDbot is already having an identity crisis, so Conan decides not to.Â
Until one day, Ran comes over and KIDbot panics, ending up in some disguise (I really like the idea of him ending up in big Harry Potter glasses, a long scarf, and a purple jacket). KIDbot introduces himself as Asu (Arthur) Edogawa.Â
It’s just... KIDbot needs love too. There’s so little KIDbot in the fandom.Â
