{Continuing my posts about how I use my perfect babysitting job to benefit them {& myself} as I stay involved in sharpening my skills for my future as a Dietitian.}
You have to teach children how to grocery shop not just down the cereal and chip aisle, how to read a recipe, and how to make food from complete scratch even though it is quicker to go buy most things already made & packaged. || With teaching kids though, you HAVE to make it a fun & positive experience, or they will have bad vibes with the task and not want to do it more.
Today I let the kids help me create a grocery list and learn how to scope out the aisles! We got everything from a healthy lunch to what we needed for our recipes (The trip would have went smoother if I didn’t let Grace get her own cart, but it added some laughs to our time!) We made soft pretzels from scratch & they were delicious. It took awhile and patience, but the kids {& I} had so much fun in the kitchen giggling and singing while we worked away! Better yet, no nasty ingredients and now they know how to read a recipe & make something they love from scratch!
