@thegr8khalid :From the discrimination we face on a daily basis, fearing for our lives not only outside but inside of our own homes, to the racism projected onto us from white TEACHERS & leaders. Growing up, at my school we had to fight for black education. Why is that? Why do we excuse racist remarks from our white peers as banter, and joking around. Why do we feel unsafe around the people who are supposed to protect us? The uncomfortable feeling of seeing flashing lights in our rear-view mirrors. It’s anxiety inducing. The names of black citizens who have been MURDERED by the people who are supposed to serve besides us seems endless. It’s been years of fighting, years of praying and years of protesting and still it seems like nothing has changed. We currently have a president who is running our country into the GROUND and could care less. We SUFFER, but it’s time for that narrative to change. To be black in America. Where they love your music/culture but are afraid to walk on the same sidewalk as you. Black women and men you are beautiful. Black Voices Matter, Black Philanthropists Matter, Black Teachers Matter, Black Artists Matter, Black Social Workers Matter. BLACK LIVES MATTER. today, yesterday, tomorrow, and forever.
