(According to Key’s BFF) These are my favorite kpop songs from 2020. Not all of them came out in 2020, but it’s what I listened to.

According to my YouTube Music App this was my most played song last year. Even though it came out in 2017. :) This song perfectly blends the talents of rap line and vocal line. I listen to this on repeat all the time. Every day.

“Baby Don’t Like It” by NCT 127

Next on the list is one my sisters and I are all obsessed with. It’s also the only KPop song on on Time’s Top 10 songs of 2020 list. I’ve listened to it a million times and watched like every awards show performance. Hyunjin’s hair is iconic.

“Back Door” by Stray Kids

Music is healing. Dancing and singing at concerts heals my heart in ways I can’t describe. SuperM was one of the last concerts I went to before everything shut down. My sisters and I heard this song then, and loved it. Then we got a video of it right when the pandemic began, but the sound quality was garbage. We talked all the time about how we just wanted a good sound quality version of this song. When the album came out I thought that was all I needed. But I was wrong. This live performance makes me so happy, and has made me smile on so many bad days. This was our family Christmas song this year since all of us were in literally different places. This performance holds such a special place in my heart.

“With You” by SuperM

This is brilliant and I’ve watched it so many times. The styling. Jungkook’s nipple. Jimin’s nipple. V’s tattoo. Eye. Candy.

“On” Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima by BTS

I’m so proud of Monsta X! They have had such a great year. This was one of those songs I had to consciously not over play. I only wanted to listen to it over and over.

“Love Killa” by Monsta X

I’ve watched this video at least once a day since it came out. It’s flawless. The song is flawless. That’s all.

“Make a Wish” by NCT U

According to YouTube this was my favorite Taemin song released this year. And that’s probably right. I watched all of his “Criminal” stuff. And “Idea” was fine. But this was one I would blast on my speaker.

“2 Kids” by Taemin

This song did not get enough love. Jooheon is so gifted. I’m so glad he is feeling better. I’m so glad he is back. And he gifted us this brilliant song.

“Smoky” by Joohoney

SuperM brought me a lot of joy this year. I LOVE this music video. This was the best of their songs that they released a video for. Hands. Down. Aside from their title songs, that album is fantastic.

“Tiger Inside” by SuperM

This song was stuck in my head more than I would like to admit. Specifically: million dollar shoes. Like all the time. On repeat.
