Okay so more phantom theifs ideas I just thought about right now
Big eyes crew, boatem, joe and cleo,horse head farms, and rendoc are all rivaling groups. They sometimes show up at the same place and it's the spiderman meme when they point at each other like "ITS YOU". and the other theves are the only ones who know boatem are five people not one but it's just more fun to confuse the police.
Xisuma is like a seasoned theif who has stolen a lot and has a twin brother who is constantly trying to catch him but just can't. One time Ex actually disguises himself as Xisuma (he thinks he can trick X for osme reason) and gets himself arrested isntead.
All of the hels are police officers or the rich people getting stolen from. Wels and Hels rap battle is still canon and that was the time Wels almost got caught cause he was so focused on his sick beats.

So.... Have you heard of phantom thieves? Basically the idea is that they steal treasure or priceless artifacts from museums and rich people, usually for fun or for collecting. The twist is that they tend to leave a advance notice/warning to announce that they will steal said treasure/artifact, usually with the time, date and location. Most of their fun comes from trying to outsmart the authorities, police and security all while stealing the treasure. There's some animes about them but the one in particular that I absolutely adore (and is my first fandom in fact) is kaitou joker
So yeah anyways, one time my brain went "haha we should do a comparison with our oldest and newest fandom to see how far we've come" and it snowballed down to one of braincells saying "HAHA HERMICRAFT PHANTOM THIEF AU" before instantly getting jumped on by the collective consciousness
Yeah, AU where hermits are phantom thieves. Because superhero aus are overrated /j
