Sora sat on the beach a bit longer as she talked to him, the sound of her voice always soothed him and just made everything better. He could be having the worst day ever but the second he heard her voice nothing mattered. He wasnât old enough to understand that it was the start of his love for her. All he cares about was his dear friend Yuna. âItâs a promise, no matter how long it takes once we share this we will always be connected.â He mused counting down before taking a bite at the same time she did.Â
It was years later when he was in middle school that he learned that those who he thought where his friends didnât really think that. He had been so upset he didnât know who else to turn to but the one person who would always comforted him. âHey Yuna⌠You busy?â He asked his voice showing he was upset.

/âż/ It had been almost two weeks since she had last attended classes. As people walked around her, they put their hand on her shoulder and nodded silently to her. Few people said words of kindness at her fatherâs funeral, but many of them were respectful of Yunaâs grief. Being so close to beginning her high school years, they felt that it couldnât be in a more detrimental time for her.
Yuna held her hands over her heart and tried to hold it all in. She would be strong for everyone. She had to be.
His voice was like a warm blanket that was wrapped around her heart. It held her together. She felt her mouth twitch and felt herself shiver. She gently smiled to herself and looked down at the smooth fabric of her black skirt. She prayed that her voice wouldnât give away that she was as upset as she was.
âI can talk. Iâm leaving for home
soon, but I can talk. Is something
                      the matter, Sora?â
