HKS Capitals by ekusupo Influenced by the 70’s style of close kerning championed by Massimo Vignelli studio. There are four grades of spacing which were given to each side of a character depending on its shape. Additional kerning pairs were then identified and worked on. Arabic numerals were individually paired, so requiring approximately 100 sets. The basic idea is that all spaces between flat edges are equidistant, i.e. I, H and L would have exactly the same gap between each character. The grid for Dummy was designed to accommodate text at various scales. The contents pages use the larger settings reversed out of black so the spread is easily identified when visually scanning the magazine. Stylistically it was desired for just titles on left page and only numbers on the right. Detail: Number (N°) character. https://flic.kr/p/iGh3b
