Storyboarding THE LAST SCHNITZEL
In the first week of July, Kaan and I came together to design “The Last Schnitzel”. We only had 3 days together and 2 more days with storyboard artist Sif P. Savery. Our idea was to draw every single shot and board the entire film, even the cg scenes.
Thinking through every single moment is hard work and when time is limited it can be frustrating. Kaan and I checked a lot of movies; watched hundreds of scenes from the masters and young talents. We tried to get inspired by camera movements, choice of lens, actors’ actions, and editing decisions- anything that can be used to tell a story.
Filmmakers* like Scorsese, Coen Bros., and Joseph Kahn were on top of our list.
We have 38 scenes - 215 shots in total.
We’ll only have four shooting days in Copenhagen and one extra day in Istanbul. This means it will be very hard to fit in to schedule; but no one said it is going to be easy, isn’t it?
