On behalf of the KERBAL Tech program as a whole, I'd like to introduce our senior executive scientist, Dr. Wernher von Kerman. Some of you may recognize his name from the trials of Dachlandian War Prisoners. He has graciously offered his services to KERBAL Tech, and Kelpogart, in a move completely unrelated to the previous announcement, has dropped all charges against him.

I look forward to seeing what Dr. von Kerman has in store for our program.

Sitting proudly on the launchpad, crafted out of the finest spare rocket parts, leftovers from the Great War, The Aeolus Mk.1.0 awaits launch. As does the eager Jebediah Kerman inside, eager to attempt reaching the upper atmosphere of Kerbin. Taking with him only a clipboard and a camera, Jebediah's mission is to research for the progression of KERBAL-Tech.

As the rocket lifts off, the team of scientists back in the lab cheer with relief that nothing has yet exploded that was not intended to.

Despite the repeated warnings and orders not to exit the craft by Mission Control, Jebediah insists on a need to stretch his legs in the momentary weightlessness as the craft reaches apoapsis in Kerbin's upper atmosphere.

The Aeolus deploys its chute, and is once more captured in photograph by the KERBAL-Tech Observatory in the mountains near the launch site.
