karyna knocks twice, quick and efficient, and hopes that she doesn’t interrupt kenny’s day too much. this was one of the big bright spots in joining the program with her brothers: constant access to her best friend. if kenny would come to the damn door. “kenny? i know you’re in there, i texted your assistant. this was supposed to be a surprise!” she says, her voice raised just enough for kenny to hear across the apartment. 

she’d just dodged her assistant again, trying to escape her duties as queen yet again. it was evening, there was no reason for aminata to still be working. but that was a mistake, and she knew it the second she saw keneilwe zulu walking towards her. it was too late to turn around, to walk away and not have to make painful small talk. aminata was trapped, again, “kenny, how have you been?” she says, hoping her initiation will make the conversation end faster. 

“can we go back to maputo? I’m going out of my mind here. it’s like every time i turn around there’s another representative of turkey in front of me, it’s driving me insane,” selene says, entering kenny’s suite and flopping down onto the couch next to her, “my sister’s arrived, too!” her voice takes on a tone of excitement that quickly changes, “but i’m worried: nikos sent both her and my mother away in the same week.”

“ah, i didn’t think anyone else would come here to hide out,” alina had been trying to avoid other people when she’d made her way around to the balcony, the night air more refreshing than anything. she just wasn’t expecting anyone else to have the same idea. the second she turns around fully, she can’t help herself but to comment, “wow... you look super great,” the dress has to be one of the top outfits of the night, including the bride’s, “ the harness really completes the whole look.”   //    @kcneilwe​
