Kenma kozume x kuroos little sibling, reader!

Warnings : fluff, nothing much. I tried not to give reader a gender

Kenma didn’t like most people, yeah didn’t take a genius to figure that out. If he didn’t like you he wouldn’t acknowledge you and that was that. But when kuroo first started being friends with Kenma he would occasionally come over to your house and while they practiced outside you watched them from the living room. You never made kenma uncomfortable or made him feel awkward like kuroo sometimes did, you were just…there.

“Hey! Can you get us some watermelon from the fridge?” Your brother would yell

You sighed and got up with an annoyed expression, but it soon faded as you made contact with the cat- like boy, Kenma, your brother’s best friend.

Your expression softened and you quickly looked away before he could notice you staring, it felt electrical to you, the way he wouldn’t stop looking. You felt your heart beating in a strange pattern, you had never felt this before and you scoffed, shrugging it off.

The watermelon is fresh and sweet as you bring it out for the boys to eat, “why couldn’t they get it themselves?” You question yourself before sitting down and eating watermelon with them

“Thank you y/n” your brother kuroo said in a taunting voice that annoyed you

“Yeah…thanks..” kenma said in a soft tone struggling to make eye contact with you despite having stared at you intensely just a couple seconds ago.

You nod softly and mumble “not a big deal…” before they begin to practice again.

That was your childhood, you, your brother and…Kenma. Wherever you saw your brother you would also see his best friend, Kenma. You grew close to him and you guys bonded over your love for video games, he was kind to you, he didn’t tell you to shut up how he did kuroo and he rarely showed annoyance when with you. You were just…so comfortable to be around.

Now you three are in high school, your brother nags you to apply for the job of being manager for their volleyball team but you always ignored him, you see him at home all the time, do you seriously have to see him at work too?

You never cared, that was until Kenma asked you in a calm composed tone while calling him “why don’t you apply for manager, you’re good at bossing us around.” He says with a sarcastic tone, but he means it. And so you apply, it doesn’t take long before you’re accepted and he congratulates you. Kuroo throws a fit about how he told you first and he can’t believe you’d listen to Kenma and not him but you shrug him off.

The next day as you arrive to the gym you text Kenma.

“Hey, I’m a little early..” you type hoping he came because the gym looks eerily dark.

He quickly texts back, his hair gently being pushed by the winter breeze and he tucks a stray strand behind his ear to hit send.

“Me too.”

You type back quickly, not wanting to be alone.

“Where?”

And he texts back an ominous message.

“Look behind you.”

You feel chills on your arms but you turn around, and there you see him, your best friend. He’s dressed appropriately for winter and he has his bag. You walk to him a little faster and you can’t help the smile that comes over you. The corner of his lips twitching upward, barely, but there. You stop in front of him, the urge to wrap your arms around him strong but…you don’t want to make him uncomfortable.

Kenma senses your arms barely twitch as if wanting to move but they go to your sides. Seeing your smile warms his body and he forgets about it being winter. He’s so focused on you, your hair, your eyes, your lipgloss..

“Kenma!” You say a little loudly, he was so focused on taking in your appearance that he hadn’t listened to a word you said.

“Y-yeah?” He almost whispers and looks up at you.

“I asked if we’re supposed to go in the gym or stay out here..” you say tilting your head

“W-we stay out here” he lied, you could tell he was lying but you wondered what the reason behind his lie was, so you stayed.

You guys sat at a bench together, the sun sets way earlier in the winter so the full moon softly casts a glow upon the two of you. Your shoulders are touching, as well as your knees, but you can’t seem to mind it, if anything you’re…comfortable. He pulls out his blue PSP from his bag and starts the game he knows you enjoy watching him play. He always tries harder when you’re watching anyway.

He begins a level and his fingers fly across all the buttons, you don’t know why but it seems so attractive to you for some reason. He beats the boss that he’s been working on for quite a while and the game plays a happy little tune and saves. He looks up at you, looking into your big eyes. You look so proud of him, and he really likes it, he wants to see that face all the time.

You smile softly trying not to be too excited and you place a gentle hand on his forearm, shaking him lightly.

“Kenma, you did it..!” You say in your soft gentle voice that makes him freeze.

He stares, his eyes scanning all your features, your eyes, your nose, eyelashes, lips. He stares a little too long at your lips and you stare at his. The space between the two of you feels magnetic, like you guys are supposed to attract each other. You’re both leaning in subconsciously, neither of you being experienced you guys land a clumsy but gentle kiss. It’s sweet and warm and you’ve never felt anything like it. To him you’re…irreplaceable.

His hands slowly let go of his PSP but your hands luckily hold it so it won’t fall. His gentle, long fingers bury themselves into your soft hair and his other hand holds your face sweetly. He thought you guys were only going to share one kiss, but you take the lead and he follows, what he thought was one kiss turned to be multiple pecks. He feels his face become warm, but it’s a different warm, a wet warm. Kenma goes to reach up to his face but you reach before he can. You wipe the warm liquid and let him have a small break to breathe. Kenma is extremely confused…until he realized he was crying, and that’s why he’s all wet now. After so many years of seeing you everyday, with and without makeup, at your highest and at your lowest, he now actually has done something he’s been wanting to do forever. He remembers all those times he’s been tempted to tell you anything…everything, his feelings, his thoughts. But it feels like he didn’t have to tell you anything for you to understand him, because you felt the same exact way. His face is so calm, but the tears are flowing down his cheeks, unable to stop. He’s a bit embarrassed but it all fades when he feels you wiping his face with a soft smile, your eyes slightly glazed over like you yourself are holding back the urge to cry.

Kenma whispers softly

“Does this….mean that..”

But you nod before he can finish.

You’re so perfect.

Your kisses aren’t perfect but they’re definitely getting better. You guys hear everyone else coming, and you hear your brothers loud agitating voice, laughing at something stupid. You and Kenma shoot up and you straighten your uniform, Kenma clumsily copying you. You guys head inside pretending that nothing happened and you do your best to fit the role of manager.

You’re sitting down with your clipboard noting things down and kuroo seems to keep shooting you long stares. For a moment as you lock eyes with him your blood runs cold. Could he seriously have seen you guys….no! There’s no way, right? You shrug it off and after practice and clean up you all begin to head home. Kenma, kuroo and yourself walk home together since you all live in the same area. The walk is silent, the silence that follows all of you as you walk home is peaceful, comfortable. That is until kuroos loud voice speaks up

“So what were the two of you doing behind the gym before practice?” he says in a stern tone like he already knows the answer.

Yours and Kenma’s shoulders seem to tense and you both look up at kuroo. Kuroo shoots you a glare. You make a confused face and tilt your head pretending you know nothing.

“Water you talking about.” You say jokingly wanting to distract him (slushynoobz)

Kuroo almost laughs but he has to stop himself (speed face) his face automatically shifts to a serious expression and he yells.

“WHY WERE YOU KISSING KENMA!” He yells it so loud you swear your parents probably heard too.

Kenma flinches at the loud sound and he looks over at you with a somewhat worried expression.

“THATS MY BEST FRIEND!” Kuroo yells like that even matters.

“OKAY, HES MY BEST FRIEND TOO?” you yell right back and his jaw drops.

His gaze shifts to Kenma and he stares at him seriously, so serious in fact that he stops walking, right in front of your guy’s house. You pray kuroo doesn’t yell because if he did your parents would probably end the both of you. Kenma looks at kuroo and they lock eyes for a long minute.

“Well now you two have to get married, that’s how it works.” Kuroo states sternly.

Kenma takes one look at you, you look so embarrassed. But Kenma isn’t going to back down so he says in a louder tone than he usually uses.

“I accept.” Like if this was a freaking video game.

That night Kuroo swears not to tell your parents about your relationship, something about that “being your job” but he’s a liar because you know how much of a loud mouth he is.

Kenma calls you a couple minutes after you’ve headed home and he mumbles into the phone sleepily

“I miss you..” he mumbles so quietly like he doesnt want you to hear him, but you do and you answer

“Kenma, it’s only been like 20 minutes..” you say not amused

Kenma jolts up as he hears you respond, well there’s no going back now, so he mumbles into the phone again

“What does that have to do with me missing you?” He says in a more serious tone.

“Well you saw me not too long ago…” you said rolling your eyes playfully

“I don’t care.” He says quickly

You sigh into the phone pretending to be annoyed but you mumble.
