The way Uta saw it, he could sit around twiddling his thumbs all day or get out and do something. It couldn’t hurt to familiarize himself with the theme park just in case, say, he needed to get around quickly. One never knew what kind of situation they might find themself in; he could hardly be faulted for wanting to play it safe.
The weather was fair that day as it had been the entire time he had been there. He yearned for angry gray clouds inching across the sky and soul shaking thunder. But there was the problem- he had no control over his situation, or very little at least. What was he supposed to do, shout his desire for a storm in hopes that whomever was in charge of everything would hear? He wasn’t willing to stoop to that level, nor did he care to draw unnecessary attention to himself in a public place.
As he continued to walk along in the pleasant day, he came across the aquarium. He hadn’t been in this particular one yet (or any in a long time), so why not? Maybe he would see something that would inspire him? Absurd as it might have seemed to some, the next career escalating idea could be discovered anywhere. It was amusing to think of everything that had inspired his art.
The aquarium was larger that Uta had expected, though he hadn’t anticipated it being small either. Brightly hued aquatic creatures swarmed around him and for a moment he was still, captivated. When his attention drifted back to reality, there was a male standing nearby.
“Come here often?”
It sounded like a pick-up line, not entirely intentional, but if he took it that way and it made him a little uncomfortable, Uta couldn’t say he would mind.
