The thing about buying an older house (and this house is only like 40-ish years old) instead of a recent build is that you just keep finding issues wrong with it only when you go to use those things. (This time it's finding out there's something wrong with the outlet for my stove only when I go to plug in the new stove I just spent over $1k on.)
I just reinstalled my keyboard shelf on my desk at home (I took it off a few months ago when I bought a new keyboard with attached wrist rests that didn't fit, but I figured out how to remove the wrist rests), and it took a moment to get used to it again, but it's so nice. Hopefully my cat will sit on my desktop instead of on my keyboard now.
Once again I am like five levels deep into side-quests for Evolution. I am:
in the Waswood, deliberately failing to Compose a Corrective History in order to raise Mithridacy
so I can go back to the Viric Jungle and hopefully pass a Mithridacy challenge with the Bohemian Sculptress (at least 3 times) to get a Comprehensive Bribe
so I can go to the Bone Market and open a stall (A handsome dais, because I somehow have a Bottle of Fourth City Airag: Year of the Tortoise, and it's cheaper to just start out with the most expensive stall you can go for) to assemble a skeleton and sell bones
so I can get some items which are only available in the Bone Market (or the Hinterlands, which I obviously have no access to yet)
so I can increase my laboratory equipment and make it easier to grind projects
which I'm doing so I can grind graduating students and employ some Profound and Visionary students so I can get Nightsoil of the Bazaar and Bottle of Broken Giant 1844 -- one of which is for the equipment stuff and the other is for
bringing back to Port Cecil, eventually, in case I fail checks over there with Evolution
And I'm also still at Knifegate with my Ambition. Eventually I'll tackle that.
one of the most humbling and stressful things is getting a new phone and then having to drive to my sister's house without google maps because I'm between phones

Just realized that I queued a cat video from someone who had reblogged it from me..... Very on brand that I see a cat and just have to reblog it.
The DND game I'm a part of is NOTORIOUSLY slow-moving (we talk a lot, lmao, and get side-tracked), but tonight a wild magic roll that means that my character can read the minds of everyone within a 30 ft radius (and everyone in that radius can hear my thoughts) successfully side-tracked us for like half an hour as my character collapsed unconscious into a dream state to deal with the sudden pressure of everyone's thoughts.
It's fucking wild that Star Wars fandom seems to fall so heavily on the side of "Galidraan was the Jedi's fault for not investigating what really happened" when Jango Fett/the True Mandalorians were the ones who started the fight to begin with.
