(I think all of the genocide awareness week events at Cal are over, but I wanted to share. Hopefully one day the Armenian genocide will be recognized by our government, but until then, we celebrate our culture and those who keep it going strong.)
Armenian Oud Master Richard Hagopian
Every summer for as long as I can remember I've heard this man and his band (Kef Time Band) play at the Armenian picnics in Fresno/Fowler and danced. I can't believe I've been so lucky to have experienced this my whole life and never knew he was a world renowned Armenian oud player from right near my hometown... Blows my mind. Just thought it was norms, NBD or anything.
