What dishes can you prepare early for #CNY? Here's an idea ... #braisedporktrotter. Eh no, cannot becos it's non-halal! But we can use the same recipe (eliminate or substitute where necessary) especially for the meat, we can cook with chicken or lamb mah. Then we rename it to Koay Bak Chor (literally translated to chicken meat vinegar in Hokkien) or Euu Bak Chor (lamb vinegar in Hokkien). Another name for this dish #BlackVinegarGinger dish. Originally it was only consumed during the new mummy's #afterbirthconfinement period, after the 2nd week or the 12th day. Just like this one ...... it was a special request by a new mummy who is still recuperating. Special ingredients were used to prepare this dish as Mummy requested for premium #Keesong chicken (fed with #lactobacillus, #NoAntibiotics, and the chicken grown free range in a controlled environment and they get to listen to #Mozart !!! wah! wah! wah!). Indeed the meat was a healthy pink, really less fat and so smooth! Cooked using sesame oil, and lots and lots of #BentongGinger (abt 1kg for this bird), pressure-cooked and the soup reboiled for a richer and bigger pot of broth. So hor, no need to wait for confinement but for #syioksyiok makan2 also can wan, minus the sesame oil and bentong ginger (use normal ones will do) and throw in some chilli padis for the extra oomph! #syurgaditapakkakiIBU #eatforhealth #bones #calcium #wardoffangin #sour #sweetish #pedastu #asyoulikeit https://www.instagram.com/p/BtJdrohBEKR/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wfccpy8jrjb9
