THE TRUTH ABOUT SINGLEMOMS….. it’s a unique world we live in. It’s moments of wondering if you’re doing things right and nobody there to tell you and affirm you that YES, you are. It’s those moments of promising your self that you won’t lose your cool at dinner time, but you did anyway. Moments when all you want is an extra more minutes of sleep on Saturday morning. When you realized that the single most used word in your child’s mouth is “Mommy!” Followed by, “Where are you?”, Those moments whenever I come home from work and I opened the fridge and be reminded that I am alone. I don’t know why I have a dinner table with 4 chairs? So recently I’ve decided to rotate them every once in a while so they can all look like they’ve all been used, crazy thinking. Those nights when my son is sick and i have no one to assist me, and of course those are also the times when I have no choice but to call in sick at My work because I am the only parent in the house, there goes my paycheck! Well, I do have an okay day, then not so okay day, then my miserable days, I’ve accepted all of that. When I would wish to hear an echo to my claps when my son sang a song that he learns from school, Those moments when I wish to have someone to ask to run to the store for me because I forgot to pick up toilets papers….these things are just the little moments and they are big moments too…being a single mom is not easy…it’s a decision that I have to make to everyday when I wake up and I know I make this decision everyday without question…as hard as it is, it really has been the best decision I make every single day, for that I am grateful!!!
