KEEPING TABS with @lieshe
Saebi’s coming out as a serial #KANGSAEBI hashtag tracker, and the general consensus is that her and Lena make a pretty good duo.
Lena and Saebi, Saebi and Lena. Two girls with quirky personalities. Masters of Konglish who seem to bounce off each other when it comes to jokes. Saebi, who makes Lena dote on her like an older sister does. They’ve just started shooting this variety show thing together, and they’re on the same team for games-and-stuff. Obviously, netizens have taken note of this, which just makes Saebi even more enthusiastic to add Lena to her long list of older sister figures.
But then they aren’t on camera, and it’s just the two of them. It’s during scenarios like these that made Saebi realize that their whole dynamic becomes a lot more watered down. It’s hard to figure out, because Lena’s not exactly reserved, nor is she cold. She’s just a little… tense, for lack of a better word. Saebi’s been trying to coax the “real” Lena to come out, tries to make her comfortable, but it doesn’t end up working.
So, Saebi thinks: there’s something seriously up with this girl.
She just doesn’t know what it is. Sure, she knows that idol images are a thing. The Sodapop boys are basically the definition, and she’s close enough with most of them to see how they shift under the boyfriend image that YDH has them under. Hell, even her own personality is amped up for the cameras. It’s something handcrafted, something to make them a little more relatable, a little more likeable– but she looks Lena and doesn’t think that this idol image thing applies to her.
Which naturally just makes Saebi come to the conclusion that she said something wrong. That, or Lena just doesn’t like her. And why the hell would it be the latter?
They’re in one of these situations now, seated in a mirror room and fixing their faces. Saebi, confrontational as always, plays with the pleats of her skirt as she decides how she should say it out loud. “Unnie,” she finally settles on, dragging out the word. “There’s something wrong with you. Like, I don’t know what it is. Your vibes are, like, off whenever we’re not filming. Is something wrong? Did I say something, maybe? Or is it just, like… you?”
