For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10
With our fast paced society and the emphasis on celebrities and glamour, the common place efforts of those who make it possible for celebrities to shine go unnoticed and unrecognized. Even in the church, the focus is often on those who serve from the pulpit or choir stand; most hardly know who the janitor is or maintenance man is. Yet if their job is not done, the ministry from pulpit or the choir will be much less effective.
You may feel that your work is not important because no one seems to notice that you do it. The pastor or deacon never gives you a pat on the back. Your boss never thanks you for the extra effort and time you put in for the same pay. Your family rarely shows appreciation for all you do for them. Sounds familiar?
There is one who knows what you do and the love and care you put into it. Your work has not escaped his eye. God knows and will remember all your work and labor of love. He has rewards for you now and in eternity.
Only God knows how many lives you touch by what you do. Only God knows how many give him praise because of your kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion, and faithfulness.
Do not grow weary in well doing; both God and man are depending on you!
