"what's with the 'too cool douchebag' sunglasses, riorson?" keelan looked over at the boy, an eyebrow raised as she closed the little bit of distance between them. she'd heard what he'd done, for imogen, for all the rebellions kids, and while keelan wasn't always the first to thank people for things, they owed a lot to xaden now. "imogen told me about your deal with lilith... thanks, for uh, looking out for the kids when we couldn't anymore."

she had to take the good with the bad, right? running into people she never wanted to see again, people that would only cause those complicated emotions to rise in their chest-- it was all worth it if they really could see their sister sitting right there in front of her, knowing that it was imogen before she even got one good look at them. she can barely get a breath in before their hand is reaching out to grab hers, pulling her sister to face her. "immy.." she finally exhales, fingers curling around her wrist, afraid that she'd disappear if they didn't cling to her.

"how long have you been waiting in line?" keelan had only just gotten there, but seeing how many people were ahead of them, they were increasingly worried that making the call to stop for coffee on the way into work was definitely going to make them late.

"martha, it's like... the middle of the night why are we awake--" keelan ran their hands over their face, leaning in the kitchen as she overheard the excessive clattering, worried something had fallen. "shouldn't you be asleep?"

"you think we could petition to stop having outdoor engagements until spring? i mean, what do these people even have to do outside right now." it wasn't as if it was that cold, but gods, keelan never liked the cold to begin with.

"gods, garrick?" keelan recognized him easily, knew the other well enough when he was younger to pick him out of a crowd now, but gods, had she really been gone that long that he was that much older looking? "who the hell said you could get that tall." she snorted, moving to pull the other into a hug. "and what's with the shitty matching tattoos? you and imogen join a gang or something?"

not a ton, keelan definitely sends like a check in text every few days?? she feels very much responsible for the rebellion kids, and wants to help take some of that weight off of xaden's shoulders so she does what she can to check in and make sure he's doing alright
