The weird thing about Rumi is that she's pretty hard to characterise I think. She is the most fully written, multifaceted character in the film, and yet. She's so multifaceted it's like it's hard to pin her down.
I really like common fandom interpretations, which make her very SOFT. Underneath it all. Bashful, often. Combative, way less often. Firm, sometimes. But she's often got a real case of the woobies I think. We see her in a very extreme moment of her life, and she's got a delicious backstory and fears and despair. But, I think because of that a lot of interpretations underemphasize... Humour? Childishness? Sort of the high energy counterpart to the sweet patheticness.
She's awkward, she's closed off, she loves the fans, she takes the reins (ramyeon needs 3 mins), she has a deep well of inner strength, she's a great performer, she gets irritated, she's strategic, she's got a 'sexy face' that she can put on, the girls like teasing her and she gets annoyed, she kills people (demons) without remorse. She's pretty fully realised, how would she respond to this or that. what would she be like without the fear of those patterns?
Anyway it's super easy to grab her and diverge pretty seriously without even realising. Im not sure in happy with my depictions
