Why did it take so long for Dallas to enerate a band like the Bat Mastersons?

Well, it's been a long process.

Individual members have been bouncing around in other area bands for several  years, but it was late in '88 when the Bat Mastersons publicly launched their attack on Texas music. 

Their music recalls mod classics while staying s rikingly contemporary. 

The band's debut CD/LP  release is selling briskly and now the Bat's have enended their reach, touring the 50 some-odd towns  that have this song on the radio. 

Perhaps you've, heard it?

Neo 70’s Revival Music? Huh?

I have lived in Texas all my life. Growing up in a small town as a teen here was a little like what I imagined being at the tail end of space would be like. By the time all the new stuff reached us (e.g. music, fashion, fads), it was all old hat, retro, Throwback Thursday/Flashback Friday before they existed. Seriously, all those 80’s fads (Jelly shoes, Twister Beads, parachute pants) were over…

Edgefest is KDGE-FM 102.1 The Edge’s yearly fest. (Last year, The Edge had now-Album of the Year winner Beck, along with the Avett Brothers, Bastille and, again, New Politics, among others.) At this year’s fest, Hozier will be joined by punk band the Offspring, alt-rock bands Death Cab for Cutie and Modest Mouse, and DJ Girl Talk, among others.
