The Telangana Chief Secretary has been instructed to carry out this decision, according to the Chief Minister. Rao added that he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ask that the new Parliament be named in honour of Dr. Ambedkar. He added that it is ideal for the nation and a source of pride for Telangana's citizens to name the secretariat after Ambedkar. He added that Ambedkar's philosophy, according to which all Indians should be treated equally in all fields, is being upheld by the Telangana government. KCR insisted that Ambedkar's name be given to the new Parliament Building. The Telangana Assembly passed a resolution regarding this in a unanimous vote. Further discussing the subject, he said he will be writing the Prime Minister a letter shortly.
