thank you so much for sending this in! nwn well, karen loves animals. she didn’t have any pets as a kid, and envied the people who did–she’s such a caretaking personality, you know? but she didn’t have any extended experience with animals until her ex-husband brought a dog to their marriage and that was her first real pet. after they split, she went petless for a while; then about two and a half to three years ago she adopted a dog from a local shelter. she loved that dog and unfortunately does not talk about that dog because she surrendered him back to the shelter earlier this year, after she made the Cthulhu Connection (discussed in this headcanon). she misses him VERY badly and has been thinking about getting a pet that’s lower-maintenance and maybe would call for less emotional investment from her… like a fish… or a pet rock… BECAUSE WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE SOMEDAY WHEN THE CORRECT ALIGNMENT OF THE STARS WAKEN THE SLEEPER… but she also just has that desire to take care of something/someone else and to make an animal’s life good and happy. but humanity has no purpose and all life on earth is meaningless. but cute pets.
