The tradition started on a random day in March. While visiting a market together, Ran excused herself briefly. When she came back, she was holding a beautiful yellow ribbon in her hands. With the words, 'I had to get this for you when I saw it,' she gifted it to Kazuha.
The next year, that same random day in March, Kazuha received another ribbon. She took Ran out on a date afterwards.
15 years and a beautiful wedding later, Ran hasn't stopped. Once again, Kazuha was gifted a new ribbon, this time accompanied by a kiss from her gorgeous wife.
